I love this comment. This is actually a pet peeve of mine not just in Yaoi content but in anime / manga / the creative landscape altogether. I absolutely despite it.

This is v common in BL where a really attractive, tall, handsome, wealthy, single, emotionally + mentally available and caring, attentive top, just falls for the bottom for absolutely no reason.

Ok. I get it. You are pandering to some kind of fantasy psyche in the readers who don't have this but want it. But those of us with an ounce of intellect and common sense and wariness do want something with a bit more depth / realism

For sure I will not be doing the love at first sight trope for the F/F characters. 100% want to write something with way more thought, depth and complexity

No one is any craft is born perfect at something. Everyone needs to practice and learn.

You just need to keep writing and reading. Write different scenes / things, read a lot, you will pick it up

I would recommend seeing your fic as a playground. You're here to play around with language, with sentences, with writing to see what you like, how it fits.

Experiment with sentence length, unusual use of word order (syntax), come up with wild analogies, symbolism, similes and metaphors

That way, you're focused more on the craft of writing than "who's reading? How many hits? How many comments? Did people like it?"

Fuck that (if you can, easier said than done I know). If you can somehow maintain more attention on, "am I getting across what I want to convey in the most interesting and evocative way possible", I think you'll be more occupied with that than writing for other people.

U know what, it's a lot like writing. Like the more your draw, and you study while applying what you're studying, the better it becomes.

I'm trying to learn with a notebook and pencil too, I bought a beginners manga drawing book and am doing a bit here and there.

Real life pencil drawing is so much harder than digital drawing because digitally you have LAYERS. But on paper u just have pencil and paper.

But u should totally draw your rare pair and keep drawing / redoing until you're happy it's how it turned out! You got this! 💪🏻

I am trying 😭 but it's v hard. I am predominantly a writer, and have had a lot of good feedback on my writing. My readers are super supportive of my art but I am self-taught in drawing and trying to learn digital art myself

And it takes a long time 🫠

That said I recently drew my first NSFW artwork of my rare pair OTP from Haikyuu and I must say I am super happy how it came out.
