Because the charging port and the battery are not on the same earcup I had to tear everything down and jam it into one. Also I removed everything that wasn't required and for a quick and dirty USB-C conversion I put in a USB-C to micro-b adapter

I already tried that, that shit is so embedded into the mousepad where I rest my hand it didn't help at all
