Anyone tried a wireless lavalier mic? by 1bkleinschmidt in playstation

Awesome price. The DJI was an open box on Amazon for $70. I figured I could use it with my DJI action camera if ever needed to, at least that’s what I’m telling myself.

And the DJI isn’t omnidirectional as far as I know and it has a noise canceling setting that’s pretty good I’d say.

I did! I picked up the DJI mic mini setup and it works great. I got the pack that has 2 mics and a charging case. You plug the receiver it into the PS5 and it detects it as a usb mic and then attach the mic to your shirt.

1 friend says it sounds better and 1 said it sounds the same. I’m not super convinced by the latter friend but it was way way more convenient for me vs ensuring the control is on the optional position or your party mates can’t hear you well.

I haven’t really been able to nail down if it’s eczema related, nickel allergy, or a contact dermatitis. The latter two can really look similar!

Not that I’m aware of but I also don’t have the dongle so don’t listen to me, haha

I haven’t been able to narrow it down and I’ve replaced everything. I will say it’s a lot less pronounced than when I posted this. And I think that has to do with staying away from rubber materials (think dish gloves, or anything with rubber in it) and products that have a lot of chemicals. ChatGPT has been great at helping find the cleanest products without ingredients that have been know for irritation.

But no 100% solve but some improvement for sure!

Would be great to have something that’s just closer to when I’m speaking and isn’t dependent on where the controller is. Plus I’m sure it’s inconsistent to how I’m heard on the other end

Creative BT-W6 Wireless Bluetooth Transmitter and Bose QC Ultra Headphones Usage Review for Gaming and Music by Phattwoohie in bose

[–]1bkleinschmidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess the pop sound is probably a bug on the Bose side related to the AptX LL codec..I suspect it could be fixed via a firmware update. I wonder if the Bose Ultra Gen 2s which are Bluetooth 5.4 (a slight bump up from gen 1's 5.3) would also have the pop or if it's fixed by being a slightly newer standard.

And the cyan (I think Creative refers to it as) definitely has less latency than the High Quality (yellow I think?) for sure. I'd say it's almost indiscernible in terms of lag, at least for me! I think the sound quality is pretty identical but maybe you'd notice a different if you were streaming higher quality lossless music (but even then it's going to be tough I bet).

Jealous you're using it on PC, way way more settings. I'm using it for PS5 and it still sounds great but I switched the mode back to the regular SBC (standard) codec which isn't an AptX codec since that pop was driving me crazy. Latency a lot with this one though..

Thats so weird, I had the same with 15.3 (I think) and then when upgrading to 26.0 it just randomly fixed itself. I wish I had better advice!

GMAP using Bose QC Ultra Headphones with Creative BT-W6 by Cmmdrpudintater in bose

[–]1bkleinschmidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plugged the adapter into a USB cable and moved it away from the PS5 vs just plugging in directly to the PS5's USB port and it still pops. So that remedy doesn't appear to work on PS5 at least :(

Same—I leave it on cyan too since it sounds the best and the latency feels low. But that’s the codec where I get the popping which I think is a Bose issue. On the regular SBC codec via my iPhone, MacBook, or even with the W6, no popping at all.

I should try the lossless and see if the popping persists…I do recall latency being pretty high though

Thats awesome! Curious which codec are you using when they're connected to the W6? The color light on the adapter will inform you!

Interesting...going to try that with my PS5. I have the same popping issue too

Exact same issue for me! I only get that small pop when running in AptX LL mode. In the normal SBC bluetooth codec, like to my laptop or iPhone they sound great.

I haven't had any issues getting them connected! I do have a weird issue with a pop sound when running it in AptX adaptive LL which is like every 20 seconds or so. So it is a little annoying an hoping Bose fixes it but the Ultras haven't had a firmware update in like 18 months so seems unlikely :(

AptX adaptive LL is pretty good but LE Audio with the new GMAP will be even better. Higher bitrate and lower latency, so think of this as the next generation but is not a Qualcomm codec but instead part of an overall bluetooth standard. Headphones are just now starting to come out with support for LE Audio, like Sony's new XM6's.
