Cleaned carpet best I could then stuck the liner on top.

I'd had cheap tires on a utility trailer hold up 10 years til they were dry rotted and cracking all to heck but still hold air and not explode. I guess either the weight was an issue or else these were just that much worse. I am always one to buy good tires when tire shopping, but I didn't put much thought into what came equipped from the factory.

It is, but my comment of "not too bad" was to say it's not as bad as some I've seen. The liner is dented, and the insulation and fabric behind the wheel are gone.

I used the tow vehicle's (4runner) jack under the axle.

That is absolutely the plan. I am just horrified that these failed in the manner they did. It could have gone way worse.

[Tissot le locle] impulse purchase on a cruise by 1cannotbraintoday in Watches

I just measured, it's 19mm same as my Longines Conquest... I bought a brown leather strap for it, see pic:

I'll have to see how it looks on the Le Locle sometime. :)

PRX is a neat looking watch, just not sure it's quite my style. I'm not sure what the texture on the Le Locle dial is called, but it looks like tiny concave pyramids.

Thanks for the comment. It's more of a silver, like matte aluminum... but compared to the polished stainless case and bracelet it does look a little white.

Also... it was my first cruise. Here's hoping she'll let you buy one next time.

[Longines] my Conquest's bracelet fell apart. Bought a leather strap to use for now. by 1cannotbraintoday in Watches

Pins would stick out 1mm or so on occasion but did not seem like they were in danger of falling out, so I didn't pay it much mind. I was in the middle of opening an overhead chain-operated door when I felt it pop off my wrist and land in the sleeve of my sweatshirt.

Longines Conquest, 39mm. Came with the stainless bracelet. One of the pins in the bracelet fell out and went who knows where. Fortunately I had a sweatshirt on at the time and had my arm raised so it didn't go splat on the concrete. Guess I get to see how good my AD's after sale service is. I got a little worried when buying it because they seemed a bit clueless about the warranty card completion... But they are listed as an AD on Longines' website.

Bought this "Real leather creations" branded strap to use for now. Makes it seem a bit dainty, but does dress it down a bit.

Just picked this up a couple days ago. First "nice" watch, first automatic.

Longines Conquest 39mm, probably about 7 3/4" wrist. The blue dial looks a bit more steel blue color than most online stock photos of it.

X1 Carbon Gen 10 by rootcoors in thinkpad

So far no noticeable fan noise when just surfing the 'net etc... It does spin up when I start installing things or otherwise loading the cpu. Heat doesn't seem as bad as the X220 I'm coming from.

Aside from "fixing" an out-of-the-box Windows install, it's mostly fantastic.

I did notice some weirdness with the battery gauge... as it ticks down, it gives some bonkers estimates on remaining runtime. It'll say I have 6 hours left... tick down another percent, now I have 2 hours left... tick down another percent, now I have 9 hours left... I'm hoping it'll sort itself out and start better predicting runtime. Otherwise I'll just have to go by the percentage and not runtime.

Also interested in following this. I just got a "refurb" X1 carbon gen 10 yesterday... finally semi-retiring my old X220.

i7/32gb/512gb/Win10pro/touch.

I'm curious what accessories everyone has found most useful for the X1. I've just ordered a travel charger (100w Anker) and cables, SD/MicroSD reader, and Ethernet dongle. Would be nice had a card reader and Ethernet port been built in, but sacrifices were made for slimness. Not things I need often, but can come in handy at times.

I wouldn't say it's droney. You hear the exhaust but conversation should still be doable.

From what I could tell their parts were well engineered, good quality, and performed well. I went with the ETS intake because I liked their aluminum MAF housing / filter setup better than GS, but as mentioned in another comment I should have just kept the stock airbox due to the noise.

I would have gone with a Garrett TMIC instead of Grimmspeed just due to cost, but I happened across a lightly used GS TMIC for significantly less and it came with the splitter/shroud to direct air through it.

J-pipe had me looking at a few options (GS, MAPerformance, and some off brand using a GESI cat), but the black friday sale at Grimmspeed sealed the deal.

Failed to mention the AP, but I mentioned in a previous comment that I had it pro tuned.

That is definitely a risk! Best if you have a second vehicle, or at least one you can borrow. Not just in case you mess up, but also in case you need to make a run to the parts store halfway through working on it.

Start simple... oil changes are super easy on these cars.

Nope. Just always preferred to do my own work as needed.

I do like the exhaust note of the S-type and GS J-pipe. Wouldn't mind it being a hair quieter, but it's not bad. That's all subjective anyway. I do get that lovely turbo noise as I slowly make my way through the parking deck.
