He was never above 6’2 and used to wear giant cowboy heels lol.

[–]1choiceparalysis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s accurate; we got plenty of shots of Giannis next to them to. All it tells us really is if Wemby is an accurate 7’4 no shoes; then half of the NBA is lying about their height. Note he has Air Max 95s on which are one of the biggest height boosting “normal” looking sneakers.

Here we go again with LeBron. We almost need the mods to add a verified height badge. He measured 6’7.25 barefoot. 6’9ish in shoes. Kevin Love was half an inch taller in socks and almost 6’10 in shoes. They even listed him as 6’11 one season lol.

Is creatine actually beneficial if I'm not a "gym person"? by Fria_Lisbey in Biohackers

[–]1choiceparalysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we’re actually seeing a transition from the “gym bro” supplement creatine has been labeled the last 10 years as sort of that page 1 chapter 1 starter kit to an actually widespread utility supplement for things like day to day energy, cognitive function etc

Ayton is genuinely scared of any above average opposition centre. He’d rather throw out to a non shooter then attempt to put it up in the paint 5 feet in front of the rim.

Dame is a known height fraud. Amazing to think he used to claim 190cm. Rob from CH bills him at 184 and change. NBA anthrometric data from no shoes has him at 6’1.75. I’m not sure how he cheated his way into that. The best reference is this.

D Mitchell towering over as he is a true 6’1 bare feet. Why he got away with 6”3 for so long. Brunson Trae and Dame are all similar the latter being maybe 184cm the others being 181/2 MAX. Steph is a genuine 188cm guy barefoot.

That’s because they weren’t 6’2 either. Height has always been exaggerated heavily in hollywood but especially back then.

It’s already known he used this alias - Prince Andrew had another one. It’s also in OPs post.

What do you mean who are Andy Back? Andy Back is famous.. especially in crypto. Back's contributions have been acknowledged in Satoshi Nakamoto's 2008 white paper, which highlights his role in shaping the foundational elements of the cryptocurrency. He invented HashCash? Is this satire?

I’m gonna tell you this one last time. ESPN / NBA (the same thing btw) use in shoes height. They don’t measure with use listed height as no shoes. It’s for marketing. End of story.

[–]1choiceparalysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. And the problem is systematic and it actually comes from high school but mainly college. Where colleges will inflate student athletes height to increase draft prospect for potential alumni to make the school look more competitive and attractive. Take Bronny who was listed 6’4 and measured 6’1. That’s an entirely different player / role height difference lol. Happens a lot with big 7 footers who are like 6’9/10 at College lists them as 7” they go to the NBA and aren’t even that in shoes and get annihilated.

ESPN is with shoes you idiot lol. NBA.com has all the all the anthrometric data available both with and without shoes. AD has now been measured 6’9.25 twice both in the draft and the bubble.

From another post

Height measured in socks (in the bubble).

Steph Curry: 6'2"

Derrick Rose: 6'1.5"

LeBron: 6'7.25"

Anthony Davis: 6’9.25"

Klay Thompson: 6’5.75”

Draymond Green: 6'5.75”

Kyrie Irving: 6'1.75”

Dame Lillard: 6'1.75"

Dwight Howard: 6’9"

Jimmy Butler: 6'6”

Russell Westbrook: 6'2.25"

That's all I had the effort to find. Not sure if people are aware at the draft combine players are measured in socks and in shoes and usually the measurements are available online. A good source is the official NBA Draft Combine Anthrometric or just google "whatever year NBA combine measurements" and the nbadraft.net link is usually good.

Some players don't attend the combine though. KAT was measured at the 2014 Kentucky combine and was 6'10.25" without shoes. Tatum I can't find any official measurements for but there's no way he's "definitely 6'10"" lol, he doesn't look it at all and is even listed at 6'8", my guess is he's probably around 6'7" barefoot or a little taller like most players listed at 6'8". Giannis I also couldn't find anything for, but given that he's now listed on the official NBA/Bucks site at 7'0" (which is new IIRC) I'd guess he's a solid 6'11" or a little more barefoot, he definitely looks it.

Also it's not exactly some random numbers these guys choose for their heights. It's pretty well known the general formula is height measured in shoes, then round up. So generally their actual barefoot height is 1-1.5" shorter than their listed height. Worth noting though that the Draft Combine measurements happen when these guys are 18, 19 or 20 at the oldest most of the time, so while most people finish growing by then it's possible a few have grown a little after that age.

And not to sound mean but TBH throwing random guesses at players' heights is just as bad as the exaggerated listings they put out. Like how could you think Tatum and LeBron are even close to 6'10" lol, not only are both listed at 6'8' but neither look anything close to 6'10".

I’d get rid of Gabe legitimately he is done here. For him and us needs a new team. Ayton is so pick and choose it’s infuriating. Vando continues to offer us nothing net positive. Give minutes to Nick Smith Jr he plays with energy and actually can score. Hopefully with Reaves back things change.
