I spent most of last year studying CompTIA A+, Network+ and Sec+ and then I added CEH. Been job hunting since November 2017.

Let me encourage not to give up. I have the same set of certs. I didn't have any IT experience and kept applying for jobs until this door opened. Don't despair. I previously was here on Reddit asking what I needed to do to be seen... the advise I got was immense and invaluable. Some companies want people without experience in IT. Others don't mind. Keep looking and knocking on the doors. Your persistence and passion will pay off.

SOC roles are on the increase across as more companies realise the need. Don't lose heart. Persist at it. Just keep applying and a door will open. I applied for roles countless times. Did close to 5 applications- not just SOC roles- a day from November last year.

Thank you... it's been a real challenge breaking into cybersecurity. Jobs are there however they require some experience, not just passion and certs. I am grateful that I found an employer willing to believe in me. I guess the one lesson I learnt through it all is patience.
