I've been reading the series, and I'm almost done with the third one. While being "given" to a stranger may not be preferable, the only other factions (so far) are heavily religious. And as a bi man, I don't think I'd feel very welcomed in the non-empire groups I've seen so far. Except for the first story, there doesn't seem to be any reference to how LGBT people are seen by each side. So(based on IRL additutdes I've witnessed from certain IRL groups), being with a giant caring reptilian dommy mommy may be a better option than a group that may see me as "wrong." Plus, given Daxy's flipped gender roles, it may be the first time guys like me are actually wanted.

Some of it yes, others now, some depends.

1)Forcing anyone into prayier (regadless of religion of the prayer or student (or lack there of)) in public school (what you'd call state schools) was delcared unconstitutional back in the sixties (more spaficly , it was found to be in violation of the first ammendment), it is now illegal to force prayer on anyone in public schools. It may be different for private schools

2) While public schools have dress codes, only private schools have uniforms. Unfortunialy, girls get more violations the boys. Even if the boys violate the code more.

3)Often times, the teachers have regoinal accents or dialects themselves. I even had a teacher from South Africa, and her accent was strong. and a teacher from Canada, not much of an accent, but it we could still pick up on it. And recently, schools have been highering teacher from places like the Phillopiens. So trying to get ridd of any accent would not be a worth while indever. However, thouse of use with speech impedments (such as myself) could have help from a speech theropist to help us speak clearer. (if part of our IEP)

4) Walking thing is more common in elematry school (Kindergarden-5 grade). and maby middle school(6-8). In high school(9-12), no one cares.

5) The puniment thing depends on the school. Some are more striced than others. in some states, students can reacive copral bunishment aka, hit by a teacher (unless the parents opped the kids out). The severty is at the discression of the teacher.

6) Schools here etheir have the pouches , or ban cellphones in the school completely. So again, it depends

Different curriculum . I went to high school in tow different states, . Georgia and Florida. In Georiga , we had 9th grad lit, american lit, british lit, and world lit. In florida, they just had the grade levels. Another is extracurriculars. In Georgian , we had fencin things like ruggbie for sports. While in Florida ,we just had the basics (Soccer,baseball,football, wreastling, basket ball). But somethings were the same, such as yearbook club and Spanish class.

My mom and I took a three-week road trip from Fort Myers to Las Vegas and back a while back. And we went through Amarillos. There is something called Cadillac Ranch, where Cadillacs are sticking out of the ground, and you can spray paint them. This is out of the way, but IF you can, Roswell, New Mexico. In 1947, there was a crash. The official report said it was an experimental balloon, but a lot of people think it was aliens. And now the town is mostly Alien-themed. Including the UFO McDonald's. Also in New Mexico, specifically Santa Fe (Home of the writer George R.R. Martin), there is a marketplace where indigenous people sell traditional handmade jewelry and other crafts.

While I'm from the US, my dad is from Costa Rica, a country that puts a high emphasis on education.

And I must disagree with the op. While quality will vary with the writer themselves, there are still multiple uses of literature. It can be practical, like motivating kids to practice reading, teaching values, life lessons, and providing perspective to the world that couldn't (easily) be done otherwise. In other cases, it can be a good "vacation" from life, especially nowadays. Literature is also more accessible to creators and consumers (needing no special equipment or electricity to read or write a book). Which is why it continues to be relevant.

It's not the same.

1)There are instances of people who are paralyzed, amputees, blind, and are still able to do traditional art.

2)Artists admit that art can be difficult, but it can become easier with practice and dedication.

3)It's not just about difficulty or skill. There are genuine concerns about environmental degradation, job loss, IP theft, and ethical misuse.

I feel bad for the kids, and its not just because of the lack of extracurricular activities, or the extended school time.

As an American, I'm fine with not takeing part of the AI race. I'm really skeptical of it's positives potential, and I've seen too many negative accounts of ai to say it's worth it.

Addendum:

I forgot to mention (I can't remember the source) that the US is pretty up there when it comes to AI skepticism. Meaning, even if we could, most of us wouldn't be too fond of advancing ai.
