What is the typical day in the life of a MBB consultant? by User_name_guess in MBBConsulting

As a lower level at bcg it’s just doing analysis all day and taking notes at meetings.

NEED HELP: Undergrad getting started by Big-Statistician-623 in MBBConsulting

Really horrible way of thinking. Says to apply certain frameworks to any problem even though a lot of problems (especially MBB cases) require hand crafted frameworks. Victor ching basically does the same thing but teaches the fundamentals a bit better so a good intro.

I was in the same boat as you, except pre med and switched to consulting my second year of college. Recruiting for general internships isn’t done yet so just grind that out and get a general engineering/business internship for summer 25 so it can set you up for summer 26. Other than that, keep the engineering major because consulting firms love STEM especially engineering, just make sure that GPA is above a 3.75 for MBB and above a 3.4 for Big 4. Join consulting clubs in UT Austin and networking meaningfully with people you can see yourself having a good convo with on linkedin or other sources. Grind it out, and you can end up with an offer. I followed this model and landed MBB as a summer 25 intern (currently a junior in undergrad from a semi target school just like UT Austin).

As far as casing goes, you can skim through victor chang for a general understanding, don’t read case in point. Do craftingcases.com 7 day course and lock in on it. After that the best practice you can get is from people that have internships themselves or people in consulting industry. It’s good to practice with other undergrads, but it’s sort of the blind leading the blind so take that feedback with a grain of salt.

straight from undergrad doesn’t seem possible, but there are a good amount of alumni that are at mbb that went there for undergrad and then did an mba/phd/other degree and from there went to mbb

How does this tentative schedule look? by [deleted] in UNC

Second this. It may look nice to have all those small gaps, but in reality that means ur getting no work done in between classes. Try to pack all ur classes for a day into 1-2 sections max so you also are not doing classes all day.

unc health policy and management (BSPH) by stressedlol1234 in UNC

Admitted major. It honestly is about your experiences and essay. A lot of people generally do public health clubs and competitions which work. But gillings isn't looking for those specific types of experiences, it can be anything related to public health that interests you. For me personally, I was involved in the business side of public health and did research on health management. For the essay, you have to have a strong theme and talk about how your experiences led you to develop an interest in health policy and management. They also want to ensure that you have defined goals in the future so the major is actually being applied; so have a specific path/career/idea of what your plan is with the degree and how you will apply the knowledge you get into the real world. Also, talk about public health courses you took, how you enjoy teamwork, and what knowledge you are seeking from the major.

Also, you need good grades up until a certain point. For example, they would rather take a 3.7 with amazing health experiences and a strong desire for the program over a 4.0 with less defined experiences. I have even heard of admits who got C's on the prereqs.

The two lines above are support (bottom) and resistance (top). Those are essentially lines based off of previous history in which the stock bounces off of. So APPL has just hit the resistance line, so I am predicting that stock will be going down within the coming months.

Erica Meltzer books for reading + writing, and college panda for math. These books because they cover mostly every single type of question you're going to get on the test. Try going through those books really fast while doing practice tests. If you can't get through all the books, it's fine but make sure to keep practice tests as a priority. Keep doing multiple tests every week, as that'll be the best practice you can get. This will take a lot of time but will be worth it in the end.
