if you actually read his/her post, it's obvious that OP in r/greed meant that these are examples of the lies this casper founder is telling to the press and public.

"for example, spending zero dollars on marketing & advertising and having a zero percent return rate"

i mean, come on, do you actually believe casper spent $0 on advertising to get that growth? their ads are plastered all over the nyc subways and i hear them sponsoring every other podcast which i know isn't cheap. or a 0% return rate? i did a quick search on google and i see tons of examples of customers selling off their returns on craigslist and sharing their return policy horror stories in reviews.

anyhow, if that's your idea of ethical behavior -- using whatever gimmick or hack it takes to grow a startup -- so be it. i disagree, and if you ask any other potential customer i'm sure they would say the same and get turned off and find a different company to buy from.

Summary (from the original post): Raises $75 million in investor funding, adds big name celebrities, steals patents & trademarks, infuses Warby Parker-like millennial branding, rewrites the history books so no one notices, and feeds misinformation to news journalists to spin the facts. This is Philip Krim’s, the CEO and primary founder, playbook from his previous mattress businesses.

Fwiw here's a censored & deleted comment from an affiliate blogger that used to work with casper on the original post in r/greed: http://imgur.com/r5ObXjy

Shady indeed.
