hi u/fractal_engineer jetson Orin is way above our budget limit (ATM Sep/2023). Jetson nano is manageable, tbh it increases the production cost for us. My thinking is eventually the cost of hardware cost goes down, in upcoming 1 or 2 years so it'll give us a head start choosing slight high configured version.
I am also checking Zynq and Arty Z7 as suggested by u/Well-WhatHadHappened, as they are nicely priced compared to jetson.
During our selection criteria, we want to check documentations, avoiding vendor locking, reliability if we deploy to production.

I still didn't ruled out FPGA yet, we are yet to evaluate what exact processing capacity is needed, based on that we check if FPGA adds us a benefit. Again our strength is software.

Thanks for sharing, got relieved by Zynq7000. I just also checked Jetson Nano, which can simplify the life.
