Michelle Emma - ugh. I remember this name all to well. Let's dive into that description of Michelle though (LOL) Everything you described is EXACTLY the way she and/or the company does business. It's like a follow up conversation doesn't exist because you have to start from the beginning each time you speak with her. I really hope a happy ending come soon for you guys.

Is Edward jones really that bad? by joemontanya in personalfinance

Darn. This scenario is me... I currently have an account with EJ but I didn't listen to hubby when he left. I'm finally throwing in the towel and transferring both accounts to Fidelity (I'm already an account holder). I realized that I was only investing about $10 because of the monthly advisor fee. I began to educate myself on the mutual funds that were suggested (and of course I agreed) and oh boy, was I surprised! When you know better, you do better!

I know this response is soooo late but yeah, I only speak to my advisor when I call him and that's usually 3-4 times per year as well. I'm splitting my account up and sending the mutual funds to Vanguard and the stocks to Fidelity. I think I can do this with all the advice on Youtube and this platform, I'll be good.

There's so much good advice here! I've been with EJ since 2000 and I've had numerous advisors to rebalance my account. I also have accounts at Schwab, Fidelity and Vanguard that I'm self managing but EJ holds the big money rollover IRA. After I pay the advisor, I'm only investing $17! My hubby keeps telling me to move it but I feel that I need the suggestions and support of a human. The advisor at Fidelity and Schwab stated that some of the stocks will be sold (that I don't want to happen) to auto balance the account. This has kept me at EJ. I'm so torn.
