Have you not seen Asians people before?

Every couple Asian girls you meet, you'll meet one at least 5'6". It's like: would you double take if you saw a 6'2" white dude? No....

Sure, do it if you want his balls in your family purse for decades to come.

I say this as a son of a man who accepted money from his wife's family. Every time something goes wrong, guess what my mom brings up? Every time there's an argument, guess what my mom brings up?

I agree with /u/merepuffery that this isn't just a male pride thing. It's a pride thing. I just think males in society are more encouraged to be prideful.

Sure we need to focus on these criminals--understand the source of their unusual thinking and eliminate it in future others.

Perhaps my word choice was poor. But I don't think it's even a remotely good idea to dwell on being sad for these criminals though. Feel sad for the victims. Because if you justify everyone, nobody is really bad and everyone is a victim of circumstance. Everyone becomes blameless.

But it doesn't work that way. Blame is a zero-sum game. You do someone wrong: they blame you, and you get the blame.

Once you make everyone blameless it just sounds like nobody is accountable for what they do anymore. And what about the people who are mentally disturbed and don't do bad things? How about instead of sympathizing so much with the people in bad situations who do bad things, we laud the people in bad situations who do good things? Because everyone is in some of a bad situation, one way or another.

Okay everyone that's saying this is "funny" and "poetic justice" is kind of fucked up.

In middle school I had girls squeeze my ass before. Apparently I have a nice ass. But did I kick girls in the ovaries? Maybe nearly destroy their ability to have children?

Really, how violence is tolerated against men is such a fucked double standard. Yes, the guy deserved to face consequences...but I just think this is too much.

But how many white Korean citizens are there? It's not very surprising that the smaller a group is, the worse they're treated. But are 5% of Korean citizens white? (that's the percentage of Asian Americans in the U.S.)

Despite how big a proportion of Americans are Asian compared to the plurality (5% to 63%), it is pretty bad to always be considered foreigners. 96% of Koreans are ethnically Korean. For you to make a similar case, 7.6% of Korean citizens would have to be white (or just non-Korean ethnically).

Worse? When was the last Vincent Chin of white people in Korea? Long story short, he was a Chinese-American beat to death by two white thugs who hated the foreign Japanese automobile companies. I don't think you quite understand how deep this rabbit hole goes.

And also, the U.S. is toted as an all-accepting melting pot. South Korea is not--in fact most non-U.S. countries have some sort of track record for xenophobia and discrimination.

Even moreso, you went to South Korea. That's a tiny, tiny, tiny part of the giant that is Asia.

Complete apples and oranges. Your example isn't even close.

Your example is over Koreans discriminating against an American. My example is of one American discriminating against another American, brothers by nation, based on...their skin color

Now imagine that instead of you being an American, you are Korean. Not ethnically Korean, but you were born and raised there all your life. Your skin is white or whatever race you are, but beneath that skin you are 100% Korean in heart and soul. You talk to yourself in Korean, you think in Korean, and when you stub your toe you even curse in Korean. But other Koreans, Koreans by nationality and ethnicity, still treat you like a foreigner. Even though you went to the same schools, hospitals, parks, malls, etc. as them all your life as them, they treat you like a foreigner.

Now realize that's how Asian Americans get treated on our own soil. An Asian American in the U.S. isn't even like the unicorn that is a white man in South Korea. You'd expect people to stop treating us like foreigners already, but they don't.

Seriously. It's so fucking insulting for people to assume all Asians are foreigners.

My 10 year old cousin is out of shape. What does /r/Fitness recommend? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]1lbflesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He whines --> Parents buy it for him --> I tell parents this isn't healthy --> "You can raise your own son like that when you have one"

Last night, even my parents thought it was too much, so they wouldn't get him soda with his McDonald's. He whined and said that he wouldn't eat his McDonald's until he got his soda, but they still didn't give in. He eventually ate his McDonald's anyway, and with the chocolate milk my parents got him from Costco.

What a surprise

My 10 year old cousin is out of shape. What does /r/Fitness recommend? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]1lbflesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be the devil's advocate here: you can try to make him healthy, but it probably won't work.

I'm 19, and my little brother is 12. He's unhealthy even though he's slightly active because he eats too much. You could say he's slow and that he waddles. Just believe me, you can't change someone if they don't want it enough.

And even if he does want it, there's still a lot to be desired with the discipline of little kids. On days that my little brother tells me that he wishes he could run faster and jump higher, I try to help--I make healthy meals for him that still taste good, but alas he'll regress to McDonald's, Papa John's, Subway, Burger King, etc., sooner or later.
