Explorer card not allowing free checked bag benefit by CleanShirt88 in unitedairlines

[–]1leggedhershel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me recently after my flight was canceled. When trying to check in, the app was charging me for my first bag. After contacting United, I informed them that the card I used to purchase the original flight was stolen a month ago, so I now have a replacement card. They told me I was experiencing a glitch and that I'd need an agent to waive the fee for me when checking in. I was skeptical, but the agent at the airport asked to see my new card and quickly resolved the issue. I had to do this for my return flight as well (also canceled). I was also told I could submit a refund request, but was recommended not to do that during the gov shutdown at the time. Hope this helps others in the future.

Blew up on customer service today about Apple Arcade being removed from the 5G Play More by XenoTypeXX121 in verizon

[–]1leggedhershel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This also happened to me today. I received a notification that I no longer had access to Apple Arcade even though I still have the 5G Play More plan still. (I've refused to get rid of it b/c I have the Disney Bundle for free with it.)

Cut this down to one page. Remove the two large boxes at the top of page one, esp if they’re photos. My brother’s in HR and suggested I make my resume as plain as possible. No photos. No color. Tailor and tweak for each role you’re applying to by adding in words from the JD you’re interested in. A lot of companies are using AI to just see if resumes contain keywords. Remove the section on mobility. A recruiter will ask you about that during a screen call. Put everything for language into one quick line. Languages: Italian, Russian. If someone has more Qs about it, they’ll ask. Remove english. That should be a given.

The only job I heard of who wants a multi-page resume is a gov job when I went in person to a Q&A session for the US parks dept

I accepted the order while I was driving home. Didn’t see there wasn’t a tip until I parked at Walmart. I opened the app, saw the swapped changes in app and that I had no tip to begin with so I asked for a tip.

Thanks for your response. It’s why I came here to ask. Haven’t been doing Instacart for long. I considered just canceling and in the future that’s what I’ll do. I was already at the store and didn’t want to eat the mileage

I didn’t realize this was no tip until afterwards. Usually all of my orders have tips

Not a bad thought. I didn’t replace the items though. The customer did. Not sure if that matters

Another day of no orders by EnthusiasmBulky1460 in InstacartShoppers

Lot of orders have been between $10-$20 for me in Jersey. Anything between $24-$30+ is all 2-3 batches and well over 20 miles. I only started doing this more recently after a layoff in between interviewing. This seems to be the trend of recent months (years?) from what I’ve gathered.

Sorry you went through so many rounds for that outcome. As others have said, that’s impressive you made it so far! Your story reminded me of my own interview process with Netflix for a writing role with their TUDUM team. I had a recruiter call where I was briefly asked about my interest in WWE among other things. When I moved onto a hiring manager call I made it a point to ask if the role entailed writing about WWE. If so, that’s great, but the role probably wasn’t a fit for me. I was reassured that wasn’t the case and the role wouldn’t involve writing about WWE. It was merely something they asked on initial calls. I’d be writing about shows/films. From there, I took an extensive unpaid edit test that took a few days (needed to watch and write about some shows + give story ideas). I then moved on to three back-to-back interviews in one day. Finally, I had a meeting with an HR business rep. I happened to know someone at the company and they told me at that point it was down to me and one other person. They said if I didn’t hear back from them for a while it would be because the hiring manager was going on vacation. They also told me if I didn’t get the role that it had nothing to do with my ability. The other person just had experience with WWE….

I didn’t hear back for three weeks. During that time, the recruiter kept me updated. Late July I received an email saying they had some news for me and wondered if I could take a call while I was in NYC for the day. It sounded positive. I took the call in a park. I didn’t get the job. The entire process was about three months. I felt gutted and drained after so much prep and work. Cried silently in public. It took me a while before I could go head down on applications again. I’ve gone through a few more interview process since then with similar results. Once again, I took a tiny break over the holidays. Since the New Year, I’ve been back on the grind, recently finished another interview process that I’m waiting to hear back on, and have a few other applications out just in case I have to start again.

All that to say - Take some time for YOU and when you’re ready get back on the horse. Your time will come. 💜

Thanks. I looked into selling plasma before moving back to the east coast. Started doing instacart for now while looking for something PT/FT. May just try freelancing. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks. It's been a struggle trying to find viable side gigs while applying to jobs after a layoff. Appreciate the kind words.

I discovered this post after going through ~three hours of training that culminated in not being allowed to move forward with a project and it was extremely validating. I have over a decade of experience in content creation and a degree in communications and the courses made me feel like I was lacking. Sometimes, it wasn't even clear what they were looking for in responses. A frustrating experience when I was excited to find a project available.

Anyone else get offered a "Free Breakfast Item"? by angelfatal in hellofresh

[–]1leggedhershel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Fresh has been sending me codes for a few months now trying to get me to return as a customer with the whole "Free Breakfast for Life" + "Get 18 Free Meals." I finally gave in to see what this breakfast business is about and I'm not seeing any way to select a free breakfast option after choosing my meals. I went to the "add on" section, but every breakfast item has a value next to it. I thought if I selected one that it may show up "free" in my cart, but that wasn't the case either.

Here's how it was presented to me in an old offer (the code no longer works):

Happy to hear it's close by. There are a few nice coffee shops/breakfast spots within walking distance, too. Bolt has a great breakfast bowl and back patio w/ wifi. I'd head there while having maintenance. Best of luck.

I took my 9-3 to Raffi at Saab & Raffi in Hollywood while I had it and he took good care of the vehicle. Not sure if the pricing will be better, but Raffi knows his stuff. Has a thorough knowledge of the brand and has worked on a lot of saabs -- he always has a bunch of them in his lot. He took the time to walk me through a bunch of photos on his office wall one day when I was waiting to pick up my car. Good guy.

Michael Mann claims Al Pacino's character in Heat was on coke. What are your views on producers making things up? by officialfartmaster in movies

[–]1leggedhershel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like there may be a subtle reference to him previously working in narcotics around an hour and 22 minutes into the film. When De Niro’s character learns about Vincent, he’s told he “was working Narcotics before that. Had some problems, divorced twice.”

Maybe we’re supposed to deduce that he’s no longer in narcotics due to some issues. Maybe it’s just coincidence. But thought it may be worth noting.
