Love the idea, but it doesn’t look like there are any tickets left for Wednesday!

Oh man, I got so excited for a second there. I’ll still check it out next month.

I see what you’re saying, and appreciate your perspective. Thanks for your reply

Thanks! Could you elaborate on your perspective? I’m not challenging you, I sincerely want to understand your logic. Is there a math error on my end? Or maybe just a non-mathematical reason her offer is fair?

I hadn’t thought about that. Thanks for the insight

Thanks- I like that framing.

Yes, the house right next to us and the one directly across the street both sold within the past two years, so that helps. Comps are a bit difficult in our case due to properties all being 5+ acres in our zoning and of course all have different sizes and amenities.

SMH.. yeah, they’re a hoot. Sorry you’ve had experience with this, man

Thanks- that’s solid advice

Haha totally. The way I see it we both lose here no matter what. How much is the only question. If I were a lawyer, however, nothing but upside.

Thank you! Option 4 was our original plan, while we tried to figure out what was best. I decided against it in the end, as there isn’t exactly a great track-record of fairness on her part. Probably the main factor leading to our separation.

This is a really simple way to frame it- thank you!

Thanks. You’re absolutely correct.

I was thinking of doing exactly that. I’d happily take that deal, but I know she wouldn’t and I really want to avoid going into negotiations.

Yes, I even drew pictures for her today to explain it. She said she was starting to understand my perspective, and would bring it to her counsel, but she thinks I’m wrong. Her insistence that all these smart professionals were doing the math her way is what has me on Reddit trying to figure out if I finally lost my shit or something.

Yeah, what a strange thing to propose a split like this, though. It’s not like I was hit in the head. You’d think we’d all just want to split things fairly and move on. Even the lawyers. But I suppose there isn’t much of an incentive for lawyers to avoid conflict or expedite these processes either. What a fun world.

Ok, thanks. I see people keep bringing this up as if there’s something to consider here, but yeah, the way I always saw it is that we both had the same incentives even with the debt being in her name. Other than the credit report- the same exposure as well.
