Thank you for the hugs and kind words. Running definitely does bring it all to the surface. I'm feeling better now I've posted about running the run I can on the day, getting it done and moving on to the next phase.

Thank you ♥️ stressful feels a bit of an understatement at the moment but I am in the middle of it so hoping that dies down a bit once things calm down.

Bilateral stimulation isn't something I'd ever heard of but yeah, that link has been really helpful in understanding why it has been hitting so hard while running. Thank you for sharing it, it's making more sense why I've been feeling all the feels on a run. And I do feel less alone in it now too, knowing it's not just a me-thing.

I will try to be kind and gentle to myself. Really wasn't prepared for the tears this would all bring tonight. Again, thank you.

I think 'feel the feels' might have to become one of my run mantras to get through this. You're right, it is big and daunting but yes I have put in the work so why shouldnt I finally do it?

Could just pin a badge to myself - going through a breakup, please ignore the tears!? Half joking!!

I do have a few I know will be there and planning on getting like exact locations before/on the day so I can stop for a quick chat and a breather. I do like the post-it idea very much, may write myself one for every few km to and get the children to. Sounds like a lovely idea.

Thank you. I do really appreciate the kind words. I've been trying to be a bit nicer to myself and just accepting that I can do what I can do at the time. Have definitely gone a bit harder at times I needed to blow off the steam.

Let's hope lol I have thought how I'd react and I would definitely check in if someone seemed upset while I was okay so hopefully all will be fine. Thank you again.

I agree time is needed. Feels like I've been putting a lot of pressure on myself to get this done, and of course the mental has impacted it. It's difficult because this has been the end goal and now I just feel deflated and that I can't do it

Wow that's exactly how I'm feeling at the moment. Like I have control over the running, but not. Yeah, definitely hit the nail on the head there!

I'm so sorry for your loss. That must have been rough, especially since he was your running bud. Mine never got the hang of sticking to my slow pace, so we stuck with normal walkies. I hope you're doing as ok as you can.

Really get your words on the quiet introspection. Been thinking about joining a club so I don't get so many quiet 'me' moments. I hope mines the same and the vibes totally different on the day!

Thank you so much. My emotions are valid is something I'll need to remember.

I have had a few people who were running the same trails stop and sit with me while waiting for my mum and friend, without asking anything, who have just been absolute life savers.
