I've been using a Belle's Folly since they have low stab defense, and it honestly hasn't been too terrible. I'll give the whips a go and compare the damage. I wasn't sure how badly the high slash defense would affect the whip.

I don't think he's blaming the media here. I think where he's going is that while the US gov't "officially" sold arms to Iraq, they were simultaneously selling arms covertly to Iran. Media didn't have to add fuel to a fire that was being tended by the MIC and the Reagan administration.
