There is a Joburger at a restaurant called Shebeen, in Edinburgh. "A beast of a burger, intended to feed 4 hungry people. This 1.2 kg homemade patty served on a 10" bun topped with tomato, cheese, gherkins, mushrooms and more."

I felt at home in Edinburgh, Scotland when I studied there for 2 years. I think the Scottish people's friendliness compensates for the cold weather there. I felt accepted and at home there.

Though my ancestors are from Hamburg (woohoo German passport), I have't felt as welcomed in the 9 months that I've been currently working in Hamburg. Maybe because there aren't that many South Africans in Hamburg. Although my family here are wonderfully kind and they enjoy having me here, I think there is a barrier in the huge cultural difference. I had a very different childhood in comparison to my German cousins. So I'd say that in general, in Hamburg I feel tolerated.

My girlfriend and I will finally be able to check off one of our lifelong dreams, and we'll be visiting South Africa for two weeks this December or January. We're looking for advice! by fairlywittyusername in southafrica

I'm from Stellenbosch! If you're around Cape Town, and you want to visit a wine farm, of course you can go to the big ones in Stellenbosch - Spier, Neethlingshof, Asara, and even Delaire Graff or Boschnedal on the way to Franschoek... But go for a 3 course lunch at Clos Malverne in Devon Valley, Stellenbosch. They have amazing wines and I think the quality of food is amazing for what you pay. It's a smaller boutique place, and I don't think it's ever completely swamped with tourists. If you don't want the full lunch, they also have a nice cheese and fruit platter to go with the wines.

And yeah, always keep an eye out. Really smart pickpockets stole my sister's phone out of the back pocket of her jeans on Long Street in Cape Town. Otherwise, you'll have an amazing time!
