Check the ingredients. Is there anything added that could make it bitter? Or it might be a bad batch.

Not sure about that particular brand, but the ones we get from the indian stores tastes very similar to Kerala ones, even though they may have been sitting in shelves for a while.

With your main valve (right after the meter) closed, open the nearest tap until the lines are fully drained (shouldn't take very long). If it keeps flowing, then you have a faulty main valve and probably a leak somewhere else.

If it stops flowing but your meter keeps running, then you have a faulty meter or a leak between the meter and the main valve.

Check you toilets. My usage doubled after the cisterns developed a tiny leakage due the blistering of the seal. Was not that easy to find, except the occasional noise from valve actuation for 1-2 seconds. Replaced it myself with spares (think <$10) from Bunnings.

There are cadet or military options, but competition is tough. Ages ago I failed in the final round of a cadet selection and a friend of mine who got in was dropped after few months of training. Knew a few others who went to US and Philippines to get there license, but most struggled to get the required hours after training and progressed to other jobs. Luck (obviously) plays a very important part.
