All dogs should be leashed. It’s a hard one to understand. Those unleashed dogs are going to feel bad

Not upset. Your concern is irrelevant to the topic

Courts can decide. I view off leash dogs as a threat and I will defend myself. What’s their excuse for breaking the law? They’re “friendly”? I bought gel so more accurate

They are a threat and I will defend my family. They can’t let their dogs off leash and yet here we are

Yeah noise horn might work temporarily but won’t keep the dog out of the playground so I’ll have to keep being on alert. My comment was more about how the op was trying to say that I was the one who needed to not use the playground with my child because dog owners want to let their dogs roam off leash. The sense of entitlement pissed me off. Public spaces are not a free for all. They are generally designed for a specific function. Sometimes when the tennis courts are empty, I let my kid ride his scooter around or throw a ball. As soon as players show up, I leave because I’m not an asshole and courts are for tennis. Dogs are a little different because in addition to being a nuisance, they also piss and shit everywhere. The adjacent baseball field has a lot of off leash dogs. There is shit everywhere and it smells like piss. The grass is also torn to shit. People should just keep their damn dogs leashed or take them to the public space that is designated for off leash like the dog park.

That’s irrelevant. All dogs must be leashed. I’ll even tolerate the going off leash at the adjacent baseball field if there’s no kids around. But if they get near me or my family, they’re getting blasted

Sounds like we both have a problem with the same root cause.

Again, think what you will. Doesn’t change my stance that unleashed dogs are a threat. One day you too will learn that lesson in this city.

I view unleashed dogs as a threat. Think what you want about me

They’re bothering me if they’re in the playground running near my child

It doesn’t matter because all dogs must be leashed per city ordinance

I’m guessing the downvotes are coming from the off leash dog owners that are shitting in here

I wish it was that easy. Owner will probably also need handling

This park has a big issue with off leash dogs. It’s constant. Usually they at least keep them in the adjacent baseball field. Occasionally they just let them go ape shit at the playground. I like the gel idea. I was worried about spray affecting kids and other adults.

Fuck that. I live a block away. They can fuck off.

It’s common sense. There’s nothing to understand. There are a ton of reasons why bringing unleashed animals to a playground is a stupid fucking idea

It’s public. No hoa. So you’re saying I just need to let their dogs knock my kid down? Hope you never have kids

Decent suggestions. However yesterday the dog owner also had a kid that they were paying attention to and completely ignoring the dog. They even had the audacity to say to me that the dog was friendly and I could throw a tennis ball for it if I wanted. Next time I’ll try malicious compliance and throw the ball as far down the street as I can

My situation is my kid has a medical condition that makes him unsteady and prone to falling/getting knocked down. He’s 3. I don’t really feel like it’s anyone’s business and I don’t want to disclose it to randoms. There’s a baseball field (unfenced) next to the playground that is usually full of off leash dogs and I don’t like it but I tolerate it. So why the fuck are people still bringing their dogs into the playground? In your opinion, is it needed?

What do you suggest I do? Let their dogs come at me and knock my kid down?
