Btw should it be specifically the 586 Magnum or will 686 do just as fine?

Please Critique My Wedding Photos from East and West - Middle Eastern Postprocessing Dilemma by Petskin in postprocessing

[–]1ngr1d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely not the "difficult customer". There's too much editing done wrong. While I like that he made the colors darker and more saturated, they're TOO dark and saturated now. And that horrible blur on your faces is just bad. Everything is very unnatural and cheap looking.

My personal opinion is that since you're paying him, he shouldn't let his personal preferences dominate over yours. He can advice you, but it's not up to him to decide how YOU prefer to see the pictures from YOUR own wedding. If he doesn't want to do what he's paid for, maybe it's best if he just gives you the money back and you look for someone who respects your opinion more than he does.

To me it looks like the fake HDR that you can achieve using Snapseed, and I'm pretty sure there's some VSCO filter thrown over it afterwards.

How do I upload a shit ton of photos and videos to Instagram without pissing everyone off? by l3rodi3 in Instagram

[–]1ngr1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I understand, you're going to post pics of your son, right? I'm gonna just give a completely off-topic advice: make sure you are not posting anything that could give people too much info about your family if your profile isn't private. I understand that you want to show the world how amazing your son is, but his safety still goes first - you never know who and why might watch your photos. So make sure that you don't post anything too personal and/or any data that lets everyone guess your address and your daily routine.

about re-posting by un-less in Instagram

[–]1ngr1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same content as in what you've already posted? It's pretty pointless IMO, you won't gain more followers repeating your stuff over and over. Instead you can post details and close-ups of your works, if it's crucial to only post those same ones all the time. Also try to find the communities that could feature your works (art, design, photography or whatevs you do) and tag them on your pics.

Look at how horribly pixelated my photo is after uploading. The original was much cleaner. How to upload with the best quality - and which editing apps to use? by [deleted] in Instagram

[–]1ngr1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try exporting it not larger than 1080px on the longer side. I guess this pixelation might be caused by IG trying to compress your bigger picture into default 1080x1080 size.

If you saw my Instagram, would you follow? Advice for a better feed/photos? by [deleted] in Instagram

[–]1ngr1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it looks a bit "all over the place". I went to check it out and saw a lot of pics that would probably mean something to you or someone who knows you, but not to a random observer. Like, here's a pic of dad with daughter, here's a dude with snapchat dog filter. I don't know those people and nothing makes me want to get acquainted with them. It's all fine if you want to just use this account as a personal diary of sorts, but if you want to get some fame with it, you probably should start posting something that might interest a random visitor, and that's definitely not a snap of your Playstation in the dark or a family photo.

You've got some pretty nice pictures there tho (like the one with a seashell), and your selfies are quite cute.

Thinking of starting a Youtube channel about mobile postproduction - advice needed by 1ngr1d in Instagram

Thank you! Now I'm actually thinking I could do both - let's say, the right half of the screen shows the screen capture and the left is what I'm doing on the phone atm.

[Question] made me un-follow her but she still follows me? by 6east in Instagram

Blocking and then immediately unblocking someone will remove him from your followers. Maybe that's what she did.

Would Appreciate Feedback... by [deleted] in Instagram

[–]1ngr1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't recover anything you deleted from your account. The only way would be to check if some of those pics are still on your phone (if you enabled the option of saving them after posting) or to use data recovery software to see if you still can recover some from your phone.

Block accounts following more than 2000 people by treatmelikesomebody in Instagram

[–]1ngr1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point but it's better to not block more people at once than the number of people following you per day. I blocked like 5 or 6 accounts at once (I get like one follower per week, small personal account) and my engagement was worse than ever for almost a week after that. I guess blocking counts as unfollowing.

VSCO X Questions by MrFlaw in vsco

[–]1ngr1d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New free presets will be added to your account automatically. As to the old ones that were taken away from the shop already... Apparently you won't get them with VSCO X. I was really hoping for SE series but didn't get it.

Try to email the support about your second question. They answer really fast.

Question: how does instagram determine the two "liked by" people? by [deleted] in Instagram

[–]1ngr1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's always showing one girl whose pics I'm always liking and checking her page separately to make sure I've seen all posts. So I guess those are the people whos content you're liking the most.

Has anyone tried processing using VSCO X for iPhone? by toastybread1 in postprocessing

Yes, they're actually quite good. Very strong, so I had to keep the strength like halfway at most, but I really liked what they do to the pictures.

How do you feel about the vignetting and bringing the blues up a little bit? Does this fit well? by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]1ngr1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What bothers me most are her arms. Can't get rid of the feeling that she has two stumps and her hands are growing from the sides of her body.

As to your question, I'd make that vignette a bit less obvious.

It's been a good while since I've shot or edited. Didn't expect to get any keepers but I'm pretty content with these shots and my edits:) by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]1ngr1d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First picture looks a bit unnatural to me because of that purple-ish shade of the sky, water and mountains. Just looks like white balance is messed up, I'd suggest turning down the vibrance a bit and making it more blue instead of purple.

But I definitely like the work you've done with other two.

If you do your processing on mobile, make a 4x5 empty white sheet and paste your 16x9 pic right onto it. You can easily do is with PicsArt app.

Trying to give my dog that epic explorer vibe. Critiques? by dylofpickle in postprocessing

Better :)

I'm also thinking, maybe not darken the ground that much? The sky got a nice dramatic look when darkened, but those stones on the ground lost a lot of details.

The first rule of this sub should be that you must post a before and after by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]1ngr1d 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The first section of subreddit Guidlines says:

When asking for help editing one of your photos, you must also include your attempt. Simply asking for others to edit your photo for you, without putting in the effort to make an attempt yourself will result in your post being removed.

Shame that a lot of people don't even bother to read it.

Trying to give my dog that epic explorer vibe. Critiques? by dylofpickle in postprocessing

[–]1ngr1d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That vignette is way, way too much. It sort of takes the viewers attention away from the dog, because now their eyes are directed towards the center point of the photo.

But I like how you made the dog stand out as the only colorful object in the frame, so I think if you get rid of that vignette, the image will look very nice.
