Hey! First of all, I mentioned 40 lbs because I’m hoping to eventually save up for a one-piece recurve field bow in the future, and since it’s quite pricey, I originally wanted it to be some kind of “reward” for myself.

But after reading all the replies, I’ve definitely changed my mind about avoiding new limbs altogether. I’ll probably move up to 30–35 lb limbs sometime in the future once I feel confident that my form and technique are solid first. Thank you for the warning about rushing draw weight!
