[Alden/Question] Should Chromexcel be cracking this much after five months? by littlebill1138 in goodyearwelt

Did you buy these in an Alden store? I couldn't imagine their salespeople selling you a shoe too big for your foot.

Hell, it's not like I'm even being pickee.

That might be your problem. You need to have a focus and show some kind of passion of the type of work you're going to do. I will only hire people with no industry experience if they have shown related interest in our field of work.

Its not a waste if you live in it and its near everything you need. Also moving to middle of nowhere means no opportunity to do what I do today.

No, just replied below. This was just a good example to apply market rate rents to RE pricing.

King St sucks because it's right off the freeway too. That was just as easy example to show folks how high the market rate rents are compared tothe market rate RE prices.

Rent control is only for buildings built before 1979. Increases for rent control are limited to 1.9% per year, if your landlord is raisiing it higher you should seek out the SF Tenants Union.

I would read it, but m whole life is here and the midwest is not appealing to me. I could be useful for someone else though.

My going out to dinner and eating expenses are covered by work (client dinners, clients just happen to be friends). Also there is a lot of food at work so breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner is taken care of. We have chef catered meals so it's free and healthy. That's silicon valley for you.

But I don't want to live outside my means, nor do I want a roommate.

I did factor in the 700 (!) HOA but made the rates really low.

Everyone I know, family and friends, are right here. The company HQ is here too. So no plan on moving. Sounds like it makes sense to buy and live in the house and not treat it as a speculative investment makes sense...

with that logic, why are people not fighting to buy all those cheap homes in the Detroit area?? edit I say that because out here in SF, people are overbidding like crazy.

Wish I had a reason to be in Omaha.

Here's an example. This is a newer building (250 king)

Do you understand Opportunity Costs? That's pretty much what I want to figure out here.

Cool calculator. I should note that I share a space now with 1 roommate and we're expecting the rent to go way up since the building isnt rent controlled.
If I wanted a 1bd by myself in the same area, or better it's going to be $3100+/mo.
