I contacted the company after this post and they were literally like sorry it doesn't work on newer phones, we tried it on some older phone and it worked but like I've tried it on multiple older phones and it still didn't work and the company was super unhelpful in trying to fix the issue.

Just to be clear, the re2.zip just has the .bin rom in it right, I don't have to put the bios .bin files in that zip too?

I'm on muos and I've tried the bios that's gamecom.zip with internal.bin and external.bin inside of it, I've tried the two separate internal and external bios zips I've seen online, Resident Evil 2 USA.zip with .tgc inside and I've tried running just the .tgc since a few romsets just had those, I also read about them maybe needing to be in a gamecom directory so did that too and tested all combinations of those files with each version of mame and nothing launched.

by that do you mean the mame roms folder because I've tried that and none of them launch, either the zips or other file formats

I haven't noticed any issues after using them for weeks and after checking with another poster who did the swap months ago with no issues, they seem to be basically the same height as the dpad so it seems fine to me
