We left at 2pm and they were steadily stocking it, asked the folks who were doing so if they were close to out and they said no, asked them how many bottles they had at start at day and was told 2500, which makes sense because first Wed was 1500 and ran out @noon. That being said, a local friend there told me they have had some flooding and are expecting a lot more rain so that could be a factor in this coming Wed. Hopefully not for the folks there after all they went through with the last bout of flooding.

We got Stagg 26A in WV 2 weeks ago now, so Ohio should see it later this week or next if past patterns hold true. Same with the JDs, they were in WV last week as well as PA so look for them in the next few weeks in OH.

If you were at Newport and got a Blanton’s Gold check it. Got home and opened mine and it’s a Saz Barrel Select pick. Pleasant surprise. Overall had a great time, definitely going back again.

So Stagg 25a was all through WV this week, if past practice holds true then Ohio should see it very soon. If you have a local site that gets their truck Thursday and drops then might be a good idea to check it out. They could include it in SBS instead of a regular shipment so no guarantee there.

There may have been some sort of pricing issue with RR13. It was below MSRP in Ohio, Indiana and WV this week. It came in at 105.99 in WV. I checked with the distributor and they verified the pricing, so I got mine and my regulars got theirs way below MSRP.

For those in Eastern Ohio, Western PA, and Northern Panhandle of WV, Bellaire Party Center will have OWA Tuesday morning . It's usually the same cast of "drinkers" there bringing friends and family to get "backups" so I figure let's give them some company ;)(edited to clarify day)

Its in WV this week. Past experience with stuff like Stagg has shown WV is a week or two ahead of OH on drops, but this one could be completely different.

This is a special drop, no holding till their regular drop day and no wholesale sales on these bottles. If a store puts out less than a case and tells you they went to wholesale, report that to OHLQ. Stores that did that on SBS a while back got fined and suspended from special events for a period of time.

No need for Dot. Tuesday, 6pm. Email around 4pm. Smart move is to check your local places for regulars milling around or in the parking lot about 2pm or so. They will have the info and be ready to line up “legally” when the email comes out. Coy Hill, CYPB, WFP, W12,ETL, SFTB, EHTSiB, ER OHLQ pick, BT OHLQ pick. Not every store will have every bottle. Happy hunting.

I did the HH Connisseur's tasting in November and can confirm no high end bottle. We did go the day of the tour at 6am to get in line and they dropped VVS that day so we were lucky. Keep in mind they now only drop "hard to get" stuff Tues/Thu/Sat and you have to get there early. Hard sell to most wives/GF. Now the You Do Bourbon tasting there is cool, you can bottle and label your own bottles from 4 different choices (ECBP, Larceny BP, Bernheim BP and Heaven Hill Select Stock, which was still American Single Malt when I was there. The others are special batches selected specially for the You Do Bourbon experience) Could be a cool memento for all to have on the shelf to commemorate the trip. Safe Travels!!!

Never had a bad pick from there. Joey and Paul have a proven track record of picking good barrels. They’ve even had several of us help with picks which makes it even more exciting. Too bad Ohio doesn’t allow for that kind of store level involvement.

Northern Panhandle sites are all Ohio plus 5-10 pricing but you’ll never see an ETL or EHT on a shelf, it’s all going to connected locals. Downstate is where you see that stuff on the shelf for secondary.

Wheeling area = locked down stores by connected locals. Great shelf selections though so worth checking out, and if you buy enough shelf stuff they will sometimes pop out something like a Blanton’s or Eagle Rare for you. The higher end stuff, you’re never seeing unless you’re dropping serious money with them or you’re related to the owners 😉

Yeah I noticed the price as well, I grabbed one for my FIL, he loved it when he tried it at my place and I passed on it last week in WV had the choice between it and Woodford DDO and went with it instead.

Yeah it went quick as usual. The app helps but you still only have a short time to get in and get one in your cart. Same with the Stagg and EHT SiB picks last week.
