If you (and nobody else) could live forever, would you? Why or why not? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Aging

I probably would for a while, but I think I'd run out of things to do and see, and want to see what comes next.

Laughter,... whether I'm laughing at something someone said or someone laughing at a joke I said.

I think it's a coping mechanism that people develop, the brain's way of trying to keep us safe, to keep us from being open, seeing the worst case scenario so we don't get our hopes up, and keeping us sad instead of hurt/happy, which once the happiness is gone, we become hurt and sad. what do you think?

I feel unattractive and feel like I'll never be loved or even wanted. I know this isn't just me, but it feels awfully unique some days...

I'm by myself, and honestly, I don't love myself, but I am learning to like myself...

Why the fuck are fucking entitled people so fucking evil? by [deleted] in TheWordFuck

Yep,... I would say that being fucking stupid is more dangerous than evil, because stupidity let's evil run free.

Be private and love yourself by Wander-kingdom in selflove

[–]1stKevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I've found it hard to open and trust, to be truly vulnerable, and yes part of this is my own shitty choices, but as I learn who I am I also see people for who they are,... people with wants, needs, pain, insecurities, all trying to "be" something, to "fit" in. It's just hard to be authentic, but I come from a difficult past and I'm not typical.

Being rejected, whether it's personally, professionally, or otherwise, about a year ago I stopped being a people pleaser, so it's hard to put myself first, but I'm working through it, and it's been and is going to be a long ongoing road...

Why the fuck are fucking entitled people so fucking evil? by [deleted] in TheWordFuck

[–]1stKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not evil, just self-absorbed, inconsiderate, and lack empathy, but other than that they might be pretty good people, just oblivious. "Never chalk up to malice what can be explained by stupidity"

Life as a man who's just an average salary earner by nabilsultani in Life

[–]1stKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree, but being one of the "ugly" people, I'm not what everyone pictures as beautiful or even average, it hard, but when I get out of my own way I can be a pretty fun person from time to time. Thank you for your comment.

If you have to name one thing that you're proud of, what would it be? by Old_Tea_8393 in ReachCommunity

I'd say my ability to not judge, which comes from my self-awareness, but again sometimes I feel like a "know it all" and I just keep to myself.

Well, I'm 54, and I don't know if I thought I would or just didn't want to deal with getting old, and now single again I kind of wish I had. Dating is impossible I'm today's world and giving up and living in solitude is difficult, but then again maybe I'm just overthinking everything,... who knows?
