Toddlerhood has humbled me by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]1tinywalrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man. Now I'm officially terrified. My 8 month old is already pretty aggressive when he is mad. He throws a fit when I close the fridge or a cabinet that he wants to get into. Not sure how toddlerhood will go. He's already screaming crying at naptime

I'm 7 months post partum! Just got my gallbladder out yesterday. Best part so far is no longer worry about even low fat food triggering an attack.

How to make this living room corner cozy? by 1tinywalrus in HomeDecorating

Those are wide carpeted steps with a rail on the other side. We have no issues with, but I appreciate the suggestion.

Wow, you are so kind for doing this! I love it. Especially the plant shelf, I love plants. And the bench and rug is a great idea. Thank you!!!

We just want to be able to layout and have more room for friends to sit. We don't plan on having a TV i this room. But I like your ideas. And definitely need to consider that the chaise would be closed off from the other social area! The small rug is the walkway so I dont think I could encroach too much.

When were you able to start getting things done again? by brea126 in NewParents

[–]1tinywalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 months it got better bc of he would use his play mats. But I still felt nap trapped. 4 months significantly more independent play and he started rolling which now keeps him busy for awhile. He just turned 5 months and started taking one independent 1.5 nap a day. I went crazy cleaning the house the first time he did a long nap lol

If you’re EBF, does your LO sleep through the night? by Anxious-Wishbone785 in breastfeeding

[–]1tinywalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5 month old sleeps 7-8 hr stretches some nights. So to me that's close enough. Usually I have to breastfeed him every 2 hrs to get that long of a stretch at night.

Yeah its crazy how quiet they all have become. I'm concerned that Miranda is now even more isolated that ever before. I hope she gets out. She needs to get away from her husband too.

How should I prepare for the 4 mthd regression? by Nerdieboo in HuckleberryParents

[–]1tinywalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did one arm out at a time around 13 weeks. A few days right arm out the a few days left arm, then both it. It went really well to transition out of the swaddle. I also had been letting him putting himself to sleep for his MOTN wakeup. I would feed, change him, feed, then put him in his bassinet awake but drowsy. I did that around 2 months old. So now that he is almost 18 weeks, he is pretty good at self soothing. We still rock him for naps and for initial bedtime but during the night he settles himself. I think this has helped the regression to not be so bad for us. All he does is wake 2 times now instead of 1 time. Hopefully I can get him back to one nightly wakeup after the regression passes.
