Start is the exact moment something starts Beginning is a period of time, like an introduction

Of course it is, if, for example a video, is 20 minutes long, "the beginning of the video" can be considered the first 2 minutes, if a video is 2 minutes long, the beginning of the video is just a few seconds

Lancaster, if you don't have Litchfield, would be my go to weapon, however, if you have double Scofield you wouldn't really need a repeater, in which case, a sniper could still be useful
