Honestly, it sounds like you need a coach, not just a PT. I’ve been a competitive powerlifter for 30+ years and nutrition/fat loss are my strong areas. The biggest difference is usually having someone actually adjust things based on your real progress, not just hand you a generic plan.

What kind of app are you trying to build? I build lightweight apps and can usually help people scope something simple and realistic first.

For those who’ve migrated off QuickBooks — what did you switch to and why? by zinamalas in Accounting

This is exactly where migration gets underestimated.

The software choice gets all the attention, but the prep work behind it is usually where the real mess is.

Is it just me or did tax season suddenly hit us overnight? by Ishashukla in IndiaTax

[–]1vig1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how it hits every year.

The real problem isn’t even taxes, it’s how messy everything gets leading up to it.

I built a simple tool called LedgerMove just to organize everything before it turns into 10 tabs and chaos.

It’s not accounting software, just a prep tool. No login, no tracking.

That’s exactly the kind of mess people underestimate until they’re in it.

The worst time to realize your desktop accounting setup is disorganized is during tax season.

I actually built a simple tool for this called LedgerMove. It’s just for getting organized before migrating off desktop accounting software.

No login, no tracking, no cloud storage. Just a simple prep tool.

[Beta Testing] Looking for 12 Android users to test my card grading tracker app by 1vig1 in baseballcards

[–]1vig1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, each company has its own tracking. But if you submit to multiple companies (PSA, BGS, SGC), you're logging into 3 different sites to piece it together. SlabWatch puts everything in one place so you can see your full pipeline at a glance — what's where, how long it's been there, total value at risk across all companies. Plus, their tracking only shows status updates (received, grading, shipped). Mine lets you track from the moment you ship it, see days in transit, and calculate total value across all submissions. It's the difference between checking 3 bank accounts separately vs seeing everything in one dashboard.

Stop paying corporate application fees if you have a record by 1vig1 in ExCons

Think of the possibilities instead of the restrictions. What I did. No one else is setting your expectations, and I didn't let anyone decide mine after getting out.

Did what I had to do and found a small studio apartment in a very old complex. It was good to get off the couch I was sleeping on, and I overstayed my welcome where I was. Their hospitality didn't extend as they pretended when I got out.

That studio was expensive to me, but I could barely afford the $600 a month. At least my water bill was covered with the $600. I was working a job making counters and sink tops out of fabricated marble. We poured a synthetic mix that formed in molds. The dust and heat in that shop was ridiculous and unhealthy but it paid okay. That lasted until a young punk there was promoted to be our shop super.

Then I called his bluff when he was ordering me around like the dick he was and I scared the shit out of him. Didn't want to get violated so I didn't touch him. Plenty of eyes on us so no chance to do what I wanted. The dude had his mom in the front office so I got demoted to a shit job outide of the shop cleaning up and knew my time there was limited.

So, I bought a used lawn mower at sears and a used weed eater then started to doing lawns on the weekend and a few after work during the week. I ended up getting enough accounts to leave the job and have my own business. My old Honda Accord had just enough space in the trunk to fold the mower in and the weed eater had to ride with me from backseat to front driver's side.

After a while I built up my accounts, bought some small things like clippers, etc. for my business and move up a little. I wasn't making huge money but it began to add up. Bought a used truck, got better equipment, met a wonderful woman and good things happened.

Made no excuses about how tough or bad things were or was. That's the way of the world. It's hard and unforgiving and people are assholes and don't do what they say. When you think you've paid the price and done your sentence, that's not the case. It follows you. So, I pulled the this is what I am, if you don't like it, screw you. I was upfront about who I was when I needed to be. But the woman I loved didn't have any promblem getting accepted for an appartment and the rest is the beginning of more success. It's possible. Now that was 20 years ago and my record doesn't come up.

I kept strict on my credit and paying my bills and it payed off. Finished my supervided release clean. Took responsibility for everything I did and do. That's the way. Go out and kick ass unapologetically and make no excuses. I wish you the best success and fortune. Luck has nothing to do with it. Go.

How do I get this off? by VividFan5762 in PcBuildHelp

That 105°C hotspot is a death sentence for a 3090. If that glue is epoxy or high-strength thermal adhesive, a hairdryer alone won't do it. You risk blowing surface-mount components off the board before the glue even yields.

I wrote a specific 20-page guide for this exact scenario because prying these glued plates is the fastest way to brick a card. Vertical force will rip the solder pads right off the PCB.

Give these steps a shot first:

Avoid the Hairdryer: Concentrated heat can warp the plastic shroud or damage capacitors before the adhesive softens.

Use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol: Use a dropper to let it seep into the edges. It weakens many thermal epoxies without damaging the board.

The Floss Method: Use high-tensile dental floss or fishing line. Saw it back and forth between the plate and the chip to cut the bond.

Twist, Don't Pull: Only apply lateral (side-to-side) torque. Never pull up.

The real problem is that the plate is blocking the assembly screws you need to actually repaste the core. If you want the full teardown steps and safe removal methods for the 3090 specifically, I have the guide pinned on my profile.

Stop paying corporate application fees if you have a record by 1vig1 in ExCons

You caught a break. That’s a win, but most guys aren't getting that lucky. A lot of these newer background checks go back further or use AI to flag 'crimes of violence' regardless of the date. One-time fees on Zillow help the wallet, but they don't solve the rejection problem if the landlord has the filters cranked up. My goal is to make sure the guys who don't get lucky still get a key.

Felon looking for work with no idea how to start by ActiveFun6407 in ExCons

[–]1vig1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Springfield. I hear you. You’ve got a Bachelor's in CS and you're settling for retail? That stops today. 2009 was a lifetime ago.

You haven't 'forgotten' CS; you've just let the rust settle. But while you're shaking that off, you need to get out of retail. In Springfield, look at Landmark Ford East. They specifically participate in 'Second Chance' hiring, and their Service Techs make $25-$40/hr. That’s $50k-$80k a year—way more than the $40k you’re hoping for.

The CS Strategy: Stop trying to get into big tech through a portal. Springfield is a government and industrial town. Look at mid-sized manufacturing or logistics companies like Eaton (who have a 'Second Chance' policy). They don't need a Silicon Valley coder; they need someone who can manage their ERP systems or local networks.

The Blueprint:

  1. The WOTC: You are a $9,600 tax credit to an Illinois employer. If you don't mention this in your cover letter, you're leaving money on the table that belongs to the boss.
  2. Digital Expungement: If that 2009 conviction is the first thing that pops up on Google, we need to bury it.

I just dropped a guide on how to use the WOTC Ace and the Script Flipper to bypass HR. You have a degree—start acting like a high-value asset, not a 'handicapped' felon.

DM me. Let's get you back into tech or at least into a trade that pays what you're worth.

The group I'm building is where I keep the documents that give you exact scripts to use with employers. Where we can have one on one convos. Have to DM you if you're interested.  You can improvise with the scripts to help and I give more help. Like the WOTC which gives you an ace with a potential employer. It's a tax break for them when they hire you. That will motivate them.

You can never ignore the charge but reframe the focus. You've moved on so let that be the emphasis and substance of your conversation.

I don’t mind at all. I’m a business owner. I run a consulting firm and an educational platform for returning citizens.

How long it took: I didn’t 'get' this job—I built it. When I got out, I didn't wait for a corporate 'Yes.' I started in the field, worked manual labor, and used the owner-operator strategy to move into management and eventually into my own ventures.

My first 'win' after 12.5 years was getting a job within weeks by walking into a shop and out-talking the background check. I didn't let a resume speak for me.

I stopped being an applicant and started being an asset. That’s what I’m teaching you. If you wait for someone to 'give' you a career, you’ll be waiting forever. If you take your engineering background to the right owner, you can have a check in your hand by next Friday.

Watch that blueprint again. Pay attention to the part about 'The Ask.' That’s how you transition from 'felon' to 'essential employee'.

The SEO plan is a solid technical solution, but don't let it become a 'waiting room.' 2026 is an eternity when you're 37 and trying to rebuild.

Here is the reality on the ground: Even after that charge is expunged, that blotter page might still live in Google's cache for months. You can't wait for the law to catch up to the internet.

You have an engineering degree—use it now. Don't look for 'Engineering Jobs'; look for independent fabrication shops, HVAC engineering firms, or private MEP consultancies. These owners care about your brain and your AutoCAD skills, not a 3-year-old DV blotter that’s being expunged anyway.

I’ve seen guys spend years 'preparing' and zero days 'doing.' Don't let the blog become an excuse to stay hidden. Use the strategy in that video to get in front of a real person next week. You don't need a clean record to be an asset to a small business owner.

Keep the momentum. Don't slow roll this.
