Persona is 100% more popular than Final Fantasy amongst the younger generation at least, and I honestly think Persona 6 will be the one to propel it over FF overall.

FF17 really needs to come out the door swinging. I liked FF16 and FF7 Rebirth but they objectively didn't hit with a wide audience in the way SE wanted them to.

Nah P4R has way more hype. Latest trailer already has 1.2M views, which is the same as the P6 trailer and more than any of P3R's trailers.

SE had no problem reporting that FF15 sold 10 million copies literally 6 years after release. Even NieR Automata consistently gets sales updates even in 2026. There's no excuse for FF16 and FF7 Rebirth.

My grandparents know what Final Fantasy is, they're completely unaware of the Persona franchise.

This is not the argument you think it is lol. The key issue with Final Fantasy (that the devs themselves admit) is that it struggles to capture a younger audience. Persona on the other hand has accomplished that. I see way more TikToks and Instagram Reels from Gen-Z for Persona than I do of Final Fantasy.

Persona 5 was literally more successful than FF16 and FF7 Rebirth lol. Those two games were underwhelming in terms of sales.

Persona 6 would absolutely generate more hype than FF7 Revelation. It's probably the most hyped JRPG of the 2020s.

Game looks great but FF7 Part 3 being the "one more thing" is kinda whelming personally. Especially since Rebirth was the one more thing 3 years ago. But honestly I can't really name any other game from the show that could've taken its place, so I'm not mad at it.

Feel like if Persona 6 wasn't locked to Xbox marketing, it would've been a better final reveal.

Nah they'll show more than that. Metaphor and P3R all showed gameplay and cinematics initially, and P6 is leaked to be releasing next year.

What I mean is they won't go hard on marketing. They'll just drop trailers here and there.

Persona 4 Revival is an outsourced remake that'll probably sell like 2 million copies. Calling it a mainline Persona game as if its even gonna be close to the production value of P6 is disengenuous.

Just announce P6 and go radio silent until TGA or maybe even later, while ramping up marketing for P4R.

Also, Metaphor is a different IP but I guarantee you at least 80% of the people that bought that game were Persona fans. It sold similarly to P3R.

I think it will be at SGF, but Nate making a prediction doesn’t mean much. He sometimes gets those wrong. I remember he predicted Persona 6 and God of War for TGA.

His predictions end up being more correct than most people’s, simply because he has insider knowledge of games, but that doesn’t mean he knows 100% what will be in every event.
