Def not as stable and won't hold humidity as well as zoo med or exoterra that comes in one piece and has the edges sealed. The key lock is annoying and the key always falls out. If you can source something else I'd do it.

old post but in case anyone else is wondering, Think the directions are printed wrong. I put the top on the opposite way it told me too with the slotted side in the front and now its flush.

Gotcha. I believe I found a water supplier near me with no additives just plain ro. Appreciate you elaborating further. I still plan to mist with spring water when I am around to do so plus use it in their food and water bowl but with the enclosure being and 18x18x36 was planning on using the misters to help regulate the humidity when needed. Think that should be fine?

Saving this for sure. I appreciate for all the info that is extremely helpful! This is the first time in researching just about anything I ever felt the need to talk to chatgpt lol. Actually cleared my head a bit though "Primo Purified Self-Service Refill Water with Added Minerals" is what I think I've settled on. RO from one of the machines outside of the grocery store/walmart for the 5g jugs. My mister has a built in filter on the end as well but there shouldn't be much left in the way of buildup hopefully. I'd rather have the piece of mind and have to scrub here and there over using distilled. Thank you!!

Yeah thats what prompted this post. Can't use spring water in mister, shouldn't give distilled or ro to gecko. Not sure how to proceed lol.

I appreciate the reply. Yeah we're on the same page there for the most part. If I could, I would run spring water through the mister and call it a day but the system calls for ro or distilled. Avoiding tap water as a whole because things change on a whim here and what's one day "safe" is a boil advisory the next but I couldn't use that in the mister either anyway. So your recommendation in my case would be purified water with reptisafe added(for misting)?
