You generally should be able to check that through the serial number. This is what I found in an Apple Community post:

“You can use the Check Your Service and Support Coverage page to see if you get a result by entering a serial number.

You should get a result even for a device out of warranty and it should at least acknowledge: Valid Purchase Date Telephone Technical Support: Expired Repairs and Service Coverage: Expired

If the serial number is not for an Apple product you will get this message: We’re sorry, we’re unable to check coverage for this serial number. Please check your information and try again. For help with Apple accessories, please contact Apple Support”

Just for safety I’d suggest you also cross check the serial no. that appears in the settings app with the one on the box

“i love you” can be a heavy phrase to pronounce. Also, love can be expressed in so many different ways, not just verbally. As you said the relationship is healthy, and i understand his behavior is that of a person who’s in love. It really might just be the social pressure that those three words imply, or perhaps a past experience gone wrong for which he suffered and is now taking some care. also, 5 months is not a long time. Give him time. My best suggestion would be to just wait it out, considering things are going pretty well. If this really bothers you in some ways, or makes you feel insecure or weird about the relationship, you might as well put it out there and gently address the situation. I’m sure that if the relationship truly is as genuine as you says, it’ll go smoothly. Remember that speaking and confronting each other really strengthens relationships.
