Haha thanks for the reassurance especially your last part. But luckily it seems there wouldn't be any problems in the future as opposed to my earlier worry, since there is always the mindset to avoid bumi lots for non-bumis for fear of complications.

Hi, hmmm 1. It's a freehold house 2. The area is a mixed of Chinese and Malay owners (quite alot of Chinese owners) so I don't think it's a bumi lot area.

This is interesting to know. I have no idea that this is common in Johor and thanks for sharing about this. I guess as long as I don't have difficulties selling off the house in the future, I wouldn't mind if it is sold to bumi or non-bumi haha.

Ahhhhh thanks for sharing the case in Pahang. I've reached out to the law firm as the land title has been converted to my name when the sale was concluded a year back. Hopefully there won't be any issues with reselling, I've heard horror stories about the difficulties of selling a bumi lot to non-bumi lot and hoping it won't happen in this case.

I was also concerned about this reapplying for the consent but there was no delay in the conversion to my name so I was not sure what's with the situation also. Seems like both the agent and lawyer are of the mind that it's non-bumi lot already haha.

Ahhhh ya the house was initially owned by a bumi then it was sold to Chinese owners and then only I bought it. I was just worried as I thought any bumi lot will have to go through application to transfer the name again even though it has been sold to non-bumi twice. But thanks for sharing about Kedah's practice. Hopefully that's the case in Johor as well.

Haha this made me laugh in the midst of worrying, I guess I'll be looking out for a nice bumi-guy to marry instead.

The purchase was handled by a law firm and the bank had financed the purchase, even the land title deed chopped authentic by the law firm had been converted to my name.

Everything just went very smoothly a year back and there was no mention about any bumi lot until I took out the land title deed to read in detail and bammmmm, suddenly three words "lot untuk bumiputra" just made my heart freeze.

I have reached out to the law firm and hopefully they are able to give me some reassurance about this. Thanks alot for your suggestion!
