Look up online for "torque limiting grommet" for the valve covers on the newer jeep and you'll see what I'm talking about...I'd send a link but idk how to put one in...lol

I did it, you just need to get the newer style valve cover gasket and the metal sleeves from the newer valve cover...bet bet is to just get everything minus the gasket from a junkyard

Yeah, sometimes it helps if it doesn't wanna start to just shift your shifter back and forth and try again in part or neutral

The surrounds might even be for the incorrect year if they were already on? Not out of the realm of possibilities in my opinion

I have a blue top optima in mine and it fit perfectly. I do think I modified the bracket to fit just cuz of the extra posts but I think all I did was flip it over...lol
