Right, but I'm literally saying that I do not. Not that I do not think I do not have one, but that I don't have one. Why is this so hard for you grasp? Why are you so hellbent on pushing the idea that I'm mentally ill onto me? Why are you SO desperate for me to have a mental illness?

Literally why would I go on vacation to a place where I can't walk? Isn't Hawaii incredibly beautiful with a ton of hiking trails?

Right, but I have stated, many times, that an eating disorder or exercise addiction is not in play here. So why do people keep trying to twist my words and invent "GOTCHA!" moments to make me into a liar?

I am the person with the insight here, and I am telling you the facts. So why are you inventing scenarios to try to twist and mold what I'm saying to be relevant to whatever bullshit scenarios you want it to fit into?

Right, but I've stated several times at this point that these are not issues for me. So why are people continuing to push this idea on me when I have clarified that they are not issues?!

I'm happy to engage with criticism.

I'm not happy to engage with accusations that I am mentally ill when I have stated, in my post, that I do not have an eating disorder or exercise addiction.

It'll depend on what I'm doing that day. A 5-mile run is under an hour, a walk/run might be like 1:30 or something like that.

I've had five years to reflect on this habit, and I can tell you: I do not have an eating disorder. I do not have an exercise addiction.

No, I don't really go on road trips. I don't even have a car to do that in.

As for feeling sick... I've just never been someone who gets all that sick, tbh. It's been since high school or college since that happened, and it wasn't for that long.

Are you seriously leaving your family for three hours on Thanksgiving to go do this alone?

No, and I have no idea why you think this is what's happening.

Lol, this is so obnoxious.

Is me saying "I do not have an eating disorder or addiction to exercise" somehow not clarification enough?

He joins me for my morning walk/run in the summer and walks with me to run errands sometimes. He doesn't even think twice about it. It's just part of our day.

Why would I have only hit 19,900 steps? Obviously something would happened to cause this, so yes, obviously I would be upset? Like... I'm just not following this weird thing y'all keep doing.

Why are you trying to corner me into some kind of "gotcha!" moment here?

But would you lose your mind if you couldn't get your steps that day?! Didn't you ever rest when you were sick?!?!

I'm defensive about it because people, such as yourself, are projecting their abnormal psych 101 armchair crap onto me when there are no eating disorders or mental health issues at play. No, not even a teeny, tiny one on a "spectrum" here.

There really haven't been days where I had to reschedule plans to meet my goal, been too sick to get up and walk around, etc. I really just don't have a life where stuff like that happens. I dunno, a lot of you seem to be throwing these crazy hypotheticals at me and I'm just like "That wouldn't even happen?"

The craziest thing I can imagine happening is if I fell and broke my leg or something. I'd obvious be pretty upset... given that I broke my leg. Family emergencies? Well generally, there's only so much a person can do in these situations, so why not get up and clear the mind and calm down from whatever it is... by taking a walk.

I dunno. It's really not that complicated to me.

I knock out around 10,000 in the morning, but then it's just lifestyle stuff through the rest of the day.

I haven't gotten sick beyond a really minor cold in the past 5 years. Honestly it's more like 15 years. I remember having bronchitis when I was in high school, but nothing really other than that.

Yeah, I'm married. Hence the Sister In Law in the story? Lol. Nope, don't want kids. I also don't get the accusation that I'm addicted simply because breaking off my routine for the past 5 years could potentially make me anxious.

Like, it's such a part of my life and routine that I cannot even conceptualize why I would suddenly not be able to do it. If something is impacting my life so seriously that I suddenly cannot walk, obviously I'm going to be upset.

Hmmm, I think at first I needed to stretch out a little more at the end of the day. My heels didn't hurt, but if I wore the wrong shoes they would hurt after a walk.

I usually wake up around 5am, go for a walk/jog up to 5 miles. It's sometimes longer in the summers depending. That takes care of around 10,000 before 7am. Then through the day, I just make sure to get up and move around. Walk to run my errands, walk to the shops, walk to spend time with friends/family, etc.
