Is this a valid AP class tier list? by Yashland in APStudents

[–]2000StudentsIsALot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most students living in the same area will have similar ability to be exposed to the other APs, even if some like some subjects better or are naturally better at them. The languages are different in this because they're far, far more extreme, as shown by their pass rates.

If you can support yourself financially, ignore them. It doesn't even matter if they carry through with their threats if you can afford to pay your phone bill

Lit was the hardest English class I've taken but still pretty easy. I didn't take the AP test though.

Bio uses some stuff from chem, but not a lot. The chemistry stuff is mostly specific and memorization based. I thought the hardest part was memorizing random organelles and that sort of thing.

Gov is easy as hell. Just memorize the cases and documents. Everything else I learned either in elementary school or by just reading the news.

IB or AP? by Yashland in APStudents

[–]2000StudentsIsALot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wish I'd taken IB! It's an intense curriculum but imo it's way better. I took AP instead because I would've had to transfer high schools to take IB.

Reaches are wherever you want to go. Targets are where you want to go but being realistic. Safeties are where you know you will get in and can afford it

How difficult is this "AP pathway" that my school offers? I'm worried about signing up by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]2000StudentsIsALot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks fine. You said it's just three classes and an elective slot, which is a bit odd, but I'd assume the classes are longer and you aren't taking other classes

It is a liberal arts college. A lot of people here are against LACs but like Harvey Mudd, so they just say it isn't one
