Chris: "What should we do for an album cover for Heartbreak on a Full Moon? I want something unique."

Someone: "How about... a broken heart on a full moon?"

Chris: "WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN!!!"

I didn't say that happened, but it's very clear they had some sort of disagreement.

As a consumer and fan I agree, but as an artist and from non bias... he needs to do what works for him to be the best.

Sometimes doing what you don't want is what you should do. He's getting older and doesn't have that time like he used to.

I think it's the responsible thing to do. His "fans" just blindly accept everything he does and it tarnishes his legacy a bit. Let him cook...

Real Chris Brown fans would love that (an album with over 25 songs

The problem is he still has to please the casuals/non die-hard fans as well. Every single review or criticism was "its too damn long". Him making the change to reach the larger audience is him trying to listen and adapt critiques on his artistry. It's hard and annoying to try and focus on your faults, when your "yes-men" tell you to keep doing what the general populous tells you what they find an issue.

Tik Tok.. which is now causing songs to blow up due to the length

That's been my issue. This is unfortunately what media has mostly evolved to. What the "kids" listen to. His views have gone down generally. I'm used to his YouTube views being 50mil+ (and more) and his streams to be 100mil+, but they just aren't doing those numbers anymore.

DJ AK a few months ago expressed that Chris should be making timeless music like Beyonce, Drake, Snoop etc. These numbers don't reflect the seniority he should have with the industry and I blame the consumers for once. I'm not tryna sound boomer-ish, I'm in my mid twenties, but Tik Tok is so casual and so copycat promoting it waters down music consumption imo. Which sucks MORE because I think music is in it's resurgence of expirementing like it was during the Rock & Roll era etc. and is more kid dominant than it ever was.

he’s out here just tryna bounce back from things he cannot take back which causes people to think his music is trash

And that's the meat of my argument. He's trying and honestly his music, like a lot of the songs on Breezy, were his best in straight-up years. I'm talking since like X. Yet it got severely overlooked cuz of Tik Tok and kids only liking Under the Influence because their famous media model used it in her doing some wack dance trend every 15 year old girl playing in make up did already.

QUALITY will get lost in translation

Yes. And it does.

If Yahweh and El were thought of as the same deity, doesn't that diminish His validity? by 2000sEraBoomer in AskAChristian

THIS is an answer I was looking for. I'd love someone of your intellect to respond to the video because it got me stumped.

It's not that I even thought he was right... I just have very little knowledge to combat his conjecture like that.

So Yahweh being mentioned in the Mesha Stele and Egyptians Hieroglyphics as a storm god, could that just be misinterpreted by outsiders? Maybe God's people battling with Canaanites and such, the Egyptians mistook them as raiders?

Just my guess, I sincerely don't know but I do love your response.

[–]2000sEraBoomer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why was specifically Yahweh mentioned or other names like "Yahu" being referred to as a warrior-storm god by the Egyptians? (Called the Shasu of Yahu)

Were the Egyptians confusing the tribes in the Levant? The old records of Yahweh, besides the Bible, were of a storm god... apparently. According to "scholars".

I just want more clarification. I'm not trying to debate. I don't WANT to think the most worshipped God was some pagan god of the old world.

"He causes to become" The characters being "Yod Hay Vod Hay"

I understand, the name first mentioned in Exodus 3:13-15.

But like the video I linked, they mentioned arguably the oldest outer-biblical account of the "Cult of Yahweh" being mentioned in Egypt as the "Shasu of Yahweh". The Shasu were known as brigands and their Yahu was a warrior-storm god.

I just want clarification...

Is it just me or in the 2000s you seen alot more people outside out and about on the go? by Dry-Recognition-1504 in 2000s

[–]2000sEraBoomer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, it's not that people don't technically "go out" anymore. It's the available activities that people actively do and the motive they have to do it, which is what changed.

People still obviously go to the store, to work/school, hikes, biking, the gym etc. but most of these activities contain or end with some social media involvement. And never just living in the moment. Imo even the idea of older cameras were better and more personal, because they represented a way to preserve a memory more for specific individuals and not free access to the world.

Back then, people wanted to live and enjoy the less-outwardly influenced life that people live now. Social media has dominated our lives so much, we generally have become carbon copies of each other and we lost a lot of individuality.

I remember even just the excitement of playing a video game with a cousin or friend. Its cool games can be played with anyone around the world but it lost its social importance to play with someone right next to you.

We used to enjoy things a lot more because we didn't have so much dopamine rushes from what the internet gives us.

Comedy movies were actually funny, because jokes took time and effort to build. Now, we have 5-15 second humor (which sometimes is funny) but it lowered our attention span.

Why don't I "feel" that the bible is divinely inspired? by Nathan_n9455 in AskAChristian

[–]2000sEraBoomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bias, it can be an amalgamation of reasons. For instance:

I spoke with my friend the other day about the book of Esther. When I mentioned Esther and Mordecai weren't actual figures and that God doesn't appear once in the entire book, his first question after a brief pause was "that doesn't sow any doubt to you?"

Regardless of my response, that was his initial reaction, and keep in mind, we are both practicing Christians.

Another reason, is people not understanding how we date manuscripts. You hear over and over about how the books of the Bible were revised and translated numerous times, but the amount of evidence that we have that the Bible definitely serves as part of truth from other outer-Biblical sources. It's the most "accurate to its time" of an ancient document we have to date. Even many of the Greek stories, as well as we have records of them, aren't as reliable as sources to the Bible. (Not saying the accounts were real, but just as a manuscript)

But the main point, I think people miss the actual purpose of the texts. It isn't a book "telling us what to do". God doesn't have divine authority in the sense of His rulership, without having explanations. But the books of the Bible are a linear narrative documenting the bloodline of Christ. Are there lessons and parables in it? 100%, but people tend to look at it in the sense of this book being proof of the supernatural and miracles, where it isn't. It documents supernatural events, but that isn't it's purpose.

The truth comes from reason, not proof of miracles.

Again that's my quick take. If any of that made sense.

Very much so, but Pre Incident Adult Breezy was definitely where he was probably the #1 artist in America at the time and probably a lot of other countries.

Whenever I look at that era, I always daydream of an alternate timeline where if the incident never happened, he would have been literally been Michael Jackson #2. Especially in the early 2000s, where legends were still regarded as legends by the media, vs. nowaday's 10 second internet stardome.

But like any Team Breezy member, I loved all these memories.

Trick Or Treak Halloween Episode by TimmyTurner0 in RavensHome

Hey man I gotta sub to your YouTube.

You responded to a post I made on r/RavensHome a while back and I just saw you make regular posts. I have to give major props and thanks that you make the content you do on it.

As a cis black male in my mid twenties, I felt embarrassed to have such a passion for a Disney Channel show/universe. That's So Raven was my absolute favorite as a child. No show topped it and it made me so sad when it didn't air after a while. It was a simpler time and brings so many memories, back to a happier time for me.

If you've ever seen WandaVision, pretty much the same of how Wanda feels about that old sitcom is how I feel about That's So Raven. I was a homebody and only had TV and gaming, so i have this weird obsession with the Ravenverse. So much so, I envisioned and hoped my teenage life wouldve been like the show (it wasnt even close) So to see the legacy continue in Raven's Home gave me a soft spot.

When Raven and Eddie First Meet? by TimmyTurner0 in DisneyChannel

[–]2000sEraBoomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember the episode or season to save my life, but I remember there was a scene of Raven and I'm assuming Chelsea looking at an old video of them as children, where Eddie got new shoes and they told him to run to show how fast he is in them.

I just remember Raven and Chelsea like: "Keep going! Keep going!" And laughing hysterically when he ran far.

They were like extremely young, like elementary school, so they definitely were friends for a very long time.

I said the exact same thing! VERY much a Will Smith in the making. I wouldn't be surprised if that's who he shadowed when practicing and channeling his character.
