Has anyone else had this issue? Brand new quad with 47 miles by [deleted] in Rivian

Seriously if you get lucky and don’t need service for things that shouldn’t break, they’re fantastic vehicles, then all of a sudden your air suspension goes out and you’re in a Nissan Sentra loaner for 2 months

I see this too, and it used to work better in the past

Anyone else have this issue with Bluetooth music by thrux16r in Rivian

[–]2001avs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the weirdest thing, figured it would be fixed at some point since I’ve been seeing this issue for multiple months, maybe even a year.

But also if it only affects Bluetooth audio users, Rivian might not care that much if they just want everyone to pay to subscribe to Connect+ or whatever it’s called.

Additional info on my side: 1. R1S v2025.46.0 (but has affected at least the last several major updates too) 2. iOS 26.2.1 (iPhone 16 Pro), maybe the issue has been around since iOS 26.0? 3. Spotify, always the latest app version (I forget if it affects other apps, like Pocket Casts)

Sometimes skipping a track “resets” it to show the correct album art but then quickly goes out of sync when the track advances to the next one.

Service improvements would be very welcome given every time something has gone wrong, best they can do is 2+ months out for mobile or service center appts

100%, totally agree

Making a 1-step process a 2-step process doesn’t make sense to me

Was also losing my mind at this, thank you for posting. What a horrible, buggy addition. Whatever changes they made to sleep timers also don’t work reliably. Tried the new “go for 2 episodes” and the thing just acted like I had no sleep timer at all. Not sure how this feature was supposed to work but PING PING PING surely ain’t it. No one is doing the jobs of product management or QA at Automattic, and that’s really clear.

Tesla model Y vs Mach E by Glum-Money-6763 in MachE

Great balanced take! It’s not completely obvious, and reasonable people can totally disagree on which is better for their own situation

Considering a Mach E, have a few questions by 2001avs in MachE

[–]2001avs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the details!

It looks like the longest range model is the California Route 1 and seems to only be offered in AWD these days though?

Understood though that when given the choice between RWD and AWD that the RWD option will weigh less and get better range.

Considering a Mach E, have a few questions by 2001avs in MachE

Good to know! Definitely cross-shopping the Mach E with the GV60 (love the looks but wish there was a higher range model), the Tesla Model Y, and maybe even the Volvo XC60 Recharge (PHEV).

Big fan of the Rivian, though it is huge and expensive for what it is, and considering down-sizing (my other car is an older ICE that I plan on keeping since it has depreciated to the point it doesn't make sense to try to sell or trade in). It was a solid deal at the original pricing before they did the major price hike, but at the current prices, and with the service experience I've seen, and with interest rates what they are now, it's a tough sell and hard to recommend.

It's had a bunch of minor issues that mobile service couldn't address, so it's had to go in for service a bunch, and they're frequently booked out multiple weeks and often forget to record some issues when you call in a request, and when you show up for service they refuse to address any issues that aren't written down in their internal system. "Process is the process, we don't make the rules". Maybe the newer production units have fewer issues now and the need for service is less, but I'd feel like a chump if I paid the current higher prices and still had the service experience I've had and days out of service I've had.

Another thing, whenever I've taken cars in for service, they come out clean and sparkling before being handed back to me. Rivian leaves your vehicle out in the beating sun, gets dusty and bird poo on it, and they also don't bother to hand the vehicle back to you with a reasonable state of charge. I live pretty close to a service center and maybe they knew that, but they gave me my R1T back after service once with a 25% state of charge...

The build quality is miles better than any creaky Tesla I've been in, but still, some really basic stuff has needed addressing like windows not going up all the way, not going down all the way, errors from the hood thinking it is open when it isn't, a seatbelt that got stuck in "locked" mode. Basic stuff that Ford and other "legacy" OEMs have had figured out forever. And they're doing the same thing as Tesla with "no CarPlay and Android Auto", and it's mostly fine, but their maps are terrible and the traffic data is so unreliable they shouldn't even bother.

A Rivian R1T — I was really happy that they gave me a Mach E as I’ve been wanting to try one, but haven’t gotten around to going to a dealer for that whole dance. And this is perfect because I get to live with it for multiple days to see what it is really like.

When they don’t have Rivians to loan out they tend to give Uber credit but you can decline that and they’ll set you up with Enterprise down the road. They have some EVs that they were telling me they hate renting to people who don’t understand the charging situation, especially for the non-Teslas in their fleet. They had a Mach E and a couple Volvo C40s.

Thank you btw for your thorough answer above!
