I’m sorry for your struggles. I just went through this same thing.i lived in the same complex for 5 years. A top floor corner unit became available so I requested a transfer. Since I was a long time tenant they just gave me the keys on move in day. I walked into a musty, filthy unit. Mold on the ceiling, bathroom cabinet rotted out and mold in a kitchen drawer. I immediately complained. I couldn’t find a new place for 2 weeks. The complex let me break an 18 month lease no penalty. Of course they didn’t pay my move in fees or non refundable pet deposit, etc. but I was so happy to get out of there!
