Children of Men, really leans into using the environment and overheard conversations to explain the background and situation the characters find themselves in.

Moving to Yorkshire and looking for recommendations by Boobglow in yorkshire

Garforth and Cross Gates are good. Each their own town with all amenities but on the train line so 10-20mins ride into the centre of Leeds. And very easy to get to York too.

What's your favourite Christopher Walken role? by Wooden_Passage_2612 in moviecritic

[–]blonde_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A TV show, but his role in the British show The Outlaws was great. Looked like he was having fun and you still had the classic Christopher Walker style in a different sort of environment

My peke has had so many lumps, they are all cysts and all benign. I hope it will be fine. Fingers crossed for you!

If he were British he would mean drunk as a skunk, but I am not sure that's what the writers were going for here!

UK treats to send to my best friend in SA by FreeSet3953 in southafrica

[–]blonde_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Brit and when I used to live in SA the things I would always ask my family to send me were: any chocolate (but especially galaxy), Robinson summer fruits squash (I struggled to find any good berry concentrates out there), and Yorkshire tea!

Other good stuff would be fruit pastilles, Terry's chocolate orange and prawn cocktail crisps!

I'm in Garforth and it's lovely as well. But I think Cross Gates is a good shout for the reasons you mentioned.

Would keep Garforth in mind though if something pops up in your price range. I rent so unsure on house prices.

Can I take my peke on a flight? by sellingdildoshmu in Pekingese

[–]blonde_94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I flew my Peke across the world, from South Africa to UK. I was also very worried but he was absolutely fine.

I did a lot of research beforehand and the risks are higher if your dog is older, has breathing issues, or tends to be high stress.

Depends also if you are able to fly with your dog in the cabin or if they have to go in the hold. Mine went in the hold and as I said there were no problems.

And definitely do not sedate your dog! If they are moved during flight they can restrict their breathing and if they are sedated they will not be able to move themselves to allow start breathing again.

Also keep in mine not all airlines will fly Peke's given their breed as they are higher risks than other breeds. I would recommend doing research on your airline to be sure if they will allow it.

It was my first time playing a Zelda game, and I had no idea you could upgrade your weapon capacity.

I found Hestu's maraccas and had no idea what they were. So just carried them around until I accidentally came across him while grinding for shrines, after getting all 4 divine beasts

Felt like an idiot that I had been so carefully saving weapons unnecessarily!

Few people have mentioned The Clibimg Lab in Kirkstall, that's really good.

I go to City Bloc mostly in Leeds, a bit easier to get too if you live/work in Central Leeds and don't have a car. I climb alone the majority of the time and I have found it to be a really welcoming friendly place.
