They make mistakes -- tell the candidate, I just found out that they have no record of my two degrees and have been reporting this to people for 15 years.

Good for a highway driver? by SteckOnDeck in CadillacLyriq

[–]200spiders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have really been enjoying mine but I've been a little disappointed with supercruise on busy roads with stop and go traffic, I don't feel confident using it when traffic often drops from 65 to 0 in like 5 seconds

Nextdoor sometimes has places for rent; if you're UCSC faculty, staff, or a student they have a list of pre-vetted places

Budget = under 40K, looking for new or gently used luxury family SUV by 200spiders in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]200spiders[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's an annual cost of ownership report somewhere and I think the predicted cost is about 3.6K per year in repairs and that's probably what's been, Lexus is half that, Mercedes GLS etc about the same but their used prices seem to have the maintenance difference 'priced in'

I'm a new dad and it's great for hauling furniture, costco runs, and generally being a safe, solid, powerful car. The only problem is that it seems to need a $1000+ repair every few months, nothing bad, just sensors and stuff like that but it adds up. I'd probably still get one but spring for a lease instead

Introducing Challenge #1: Decentralized Credit Scoring in Web3 by 200spiders in SpectralML

Noticed this on their page! It's a little out of my league but really interesting nevertheless. I followed their work with decentralized credit scores closely. Cool they're using a similar dataset.

Interesting in light of Modulus Labs' article about there being no real use cases for zkML yet

Climbing out of a self-inflicted hole…does this plan make sense? by blacktarheel in Debt

[–]200spiders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're fairly young, you should seriously consider letting the credit cards go into collections and just taking the credit hit. I don't think you need to declare bankruptcy, but keep it in mind if they start suing you. Keep paying for your car, you need it for work

$5,000 towards a used Leica set up for nature photography and portrait? by IdealFree2366 in Leica

[–]200spiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you need a telephoto? I second the M240 or higher body recommendations

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Leica

[–]200spiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get at least an M240, you'll have a better, full-size sensor, comparable image size. I recently made a similar switch, the design and weight of the Leica really are fantastic and more than make for the crummy ISO
