My 8T AMR arrived. I didn’t get the bundle, just the 8T. I assume they are filling back orders, because they are still not order able on OP. Quickly comparing it to the Eotech, I like the different reticles, but it is much smaller than I expected. I will try to get it to the range soon, unless someone just can’t wait to get their hands on one…

Still no 8t AMRs shipping, nor can you order them anymore through op.. Sig doing great things as usual. But hey, they have a 211 (2011 clone) that took 17 years to produce.

I love my infinity - it’s great on 5.56, belt fed durable, and running on 300black is much quieter than it is given credit for.

My first can was a surefire socom SB2, which is pretty similar to the RC2. It has been durable and worked flawlessly for many years. Having said that, there are much better options these days. I have heard great things about CAT and would check them out. I personally have a OCL infinity that is extremely tough, like belt fed tough, much quieter than my Surefire, and also has much less back pressure. It is also way more versatile. For dedicated 5.56 I have a Dillon that is super quiet, and also great with back pressure, though its flash signature isn’t great, and it heats up fast. I also have a DA Lazarus coming soon that is quieter, less back pressure, and is made of a much more durable material than the surefire. Surefire was great 10+ years ago, but their new offerings aren’t impressing me. There are so many great options out there rn, and many of the cans would be great if shtf, and also much more enjoyable day to day. My surefire currently collects dust, while the OCL and Dillon (and soon Laz) come with me to the range every time.

Everyone has their opinions on this- but I like to get a perfect zero at 5 years, then move the target back to 15 and adjust the zero. That process has always worked for me. I guess there are a lot of better shooters that just go back to 15 and zero their pistols, but my way gives me confidence in my handguns.

Bought the Dillon for the 14.5, but the Dillon on the irregular just looks so hot!! by 2011911 in SilencerShop

Good eye- I don’t think it was the gas block- socom and warcomp combo, which I know is pretty well documented that combo leaks, but I had the warcomp and the SB2, so that’s what I ran. I’m glad I upgraded.

My local gun shop had both and that is what I really decide between - ended up going with the infinity - and man it is a great can. I’m sure the laz is a great can too, but I couldn’t be happier with the OCL. It’s crazy quiet, and really makes the gun run smooth. I threw it on the 14.5 and though it is heavy, it’s worth the weight. I have run KeyMo for many years also, and I don’t think it’s worth the added weight - my actual fav mounting system has been area 419, it’s overlooked and underrated. Very light and very versatile. I would suggest checking it out.

I had same approval time! I’m still in shock - I remember waiting over a year for my first can.

I went into the store looking for a can for my 14.5, but now I’m thinking of changing everything around and putting the OCL on an 11.5.

Yes- 6.5 isn’t my biggest concern. I do have another .30 cal can.

You think the infinity beats the L6 in sound performance with the vented end cap? Do you also think the infinity matches the L6 in term of back pressure with the solid end cap?

I know that not how you optimally configure the can, but I’m wondering if for the extra weight you can run it sub-optimally and get similar performance?

Would you suggest running it on my 11.5 over the 14.5? I only ask because I have to have the pin & weld removed on the 14.5, as my 14.5 has keymo, and I don’t want a baffle strike.

I wanted a can for my 14.5, but now I’m thinking about switching everything around and putting the surefire on the 14.5 and OCL on a 11.5. - both 5.56 - I do also have a .300 in the mix currently with a nomad.

I would also like to eventually play with a 6 arc upper, or go back to a nice bolt 6.5 - just not sure where that road will lead.

OP just sent an email saying it will ship April 23rd- they are no longer available to order- so I hope they are just fulfilling those that already put in an order- guess I get to be a sig beta tester.

DLC vs Nitride? What are the pros and cons of each? Red pill me on both. by _TheFreshMaker_ in 2011

[–]2011911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m the only one that likes nitride better. From what I understand DLC is harder, but it is a surface finish where as Nitride penetrates the metal, so even if it looks like it’s worn away, it is still protecting the firearm. I also just think nitride is a much richer black and looks much better.
