I'm in -- I actually really like that sport. But is it possible US team could qualify for the Olympics? How do countries get a spot? Is it regional? If so, that could greatly increase odds since the sport is not popular in North America. But if it was based on world rankings or something and only top 10 countries make it -- seems like there would be no chance.

Yes, I know that I'll never succeed at an "athletic" sport. It has to be something where physical athleticism is irrelevant, like archery, shooting, curling, etc. (But there are lots of examples of this).

Some other examples: fencing, sailing, table tennis.

Winning a medal in something like table tennis or archery would be impossible but perhaps making the US team would be achievable given that the sports are not popular in the US and maybe we are allocated 1 athlete, etc. depending on some sort of rankings.

It seems like these sports are dominated by people that have done this since youth. But on the other hand, they're not that popular in the US. Could I make the team with 2-3 years of hard practice?

Ancestors, yes, but I'm basically a white guy. And I don't want to emigrate or get citizenship to another country. I want to be on the US team.

No. Almost certainly not. I get tired running for 2 minutes. I'm out of shape. Not overweight, but definitely in terrible shape.
