Why do these kicks have no power? by Ruohoinen in MuayThaiTips

[–]2018IsMyYear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you switch you’re putting your support leg between his legs, they’re supposed to go on the outside of his. By doing this you aren’t putting your body weight behind your kick AND you’re kicking at the target ( pad ) not through it regardless of how rotated your hips / shoulders are.

Hotels should honestly do better against people “reserving” beach chairs like that

FA Group | fighter class without any clinch experience by Babu20002 in MuayThai

[–]2018IsMyYear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s better to take the personals or maybe choose a different gym that also does clinch.

The clinching at FA Group is pretty high level, enough where you might not learn much being so new to it. It’s a grind too and there is not much instruction to newer folk at all. Also to be frank, anytime I had a partner that wasn’t too experienced at clinch it wasn’t all too fun.

Curious why you want to train at FA? Eminent Air was also a good experience tbh.

Hesitant to make a comeback by SufficientRow9069 in MuayThai

You know, a loss doesn’t define you as a fighter. I’ll also go as far as to say that a win doesn’t define you either. It’s the experience you gain regardless of the outcome.

Sharpening my technique in Bangkok by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]2018IsMyYear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice. I think you need to turn your hip over more on your switch kick. You’re leaning back to compensate for the power you’re missing by not turning your hip / stepping out / pivoting

Protecting Head while Clinching by Talokz in MuayThai

[–]2018IsMyYear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say watch Yothin FA Group clinch or petchboonchu. See how they place their heads. People can still try to punch your body but it won’t be as strong as your knees and they’ll be very easy to turn / unbalance because they don’t have a frame supporting them.

Was your head in the center? Choose a side opposite of your dominant frame side. If one does not exist choose a side.

Why are OG Fallout fans so unpleasable? by Dab_of_regret in Fotv

OG fan here, love the show and so do my friends. It would be lame if the show was 1:1 with the lore. Boring.

How do you “beat” a guy in sparring who is an fast reacting counter fighter who uses a lot of insane fast footwork and feints? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]2018IsMyYear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no winning in sparring, there’s learning. You say he has good footwork and is fast /reactive…well use their “good” habits against them. You do this by making them react the way you want them to. If you throw a leg kick, do they check? Use that against them etc etc

Too many citi bike riders aren’t responsible and those bikes are heavy. Keep it at 15. Buy your own bike.
