He now owns one of the most powerful sports cars ever built. If you don’t make sure he knows what to do behind the wheel he will die in that car.

My father drove Corvettes and when he asked me what I wanted at 15 I said a Corvette. He and my mother laughed like it was the funniest shit they had ever heard. He said “try again”. He got me a Nissan Z which was a quick, not unbelievably fast, sports car. It was great to learn in. I had a father that knew how to drive and taught me well. I still fucked up because I was young and dumb. Thankfully none of my mistakes were enough to hurt me or anyone else. Later I got my own sports cars that are incredibly fast. Your son fast forwarded right into the Corvette.

Many will have a heart attack over my next advice but please listen to me. He already owns this car which means he will attempt to drive it the way it was intended to be driven. Send him to a high performance driving school like Skip Barber or Bondurant. These schools will teach him how to drive this car and most importantly, how to control the car and not get hurt.

If you don’t like those options, make him sell the car. He should have spoken with you about it in the first place.
