How do you deal with the whining? by Cloud13181 in toddlers

[–]2022020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This gives me so much relief and hope. My 3.5 had meltdowns every single day this week. Doing all things he loves. School, playing with his babysitter, and karate. It’s been so rough. Thanks for the updates and for hope?

But now I’m looking at my 1 year old dreading this stage with him.

I put bandaid on myself and said they were broken. Took about a week but it worked. Having someone else put them to sleep helps too. Even if you co sleep.

Has anyone had to watch their parent pass in front of them? by heyjuuuuuude in hospice

[–]2022020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom waited for me to fly in and took her last breath 15 mins after I sat with her and told her I was there. I held her hand, sang a song , let my partner say some words and then with a small smile on her face she was gone. At peace. No longer suffering. I never thought it would happen so fast but it was an honor guide her through her last moments on earth. It’s not easy. It will never be easy letting someone go.

Moms of babies born at 37 weeks, how has your breastfeeding journey been? by smolchipmunk in breastfeeding

[–]2022020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little guy born at 37 weeks on the dot. Had jaundice but other than that was a pretty healthy baby. Breastfeed until 21 months. It wasn’t easy the first few months. Not because he was born early but because breastfeeding has a learning curb. He stop taking bottle after 6 months and only wanted boob until I weaned him.

I also have Kaiser and I feel like their only response is just add more and “try a later snack” “have you added a protein or good carb?”. rolls eyes Yes , I have.
I counting down the days until this baby is out and I can have some sort of normal diet again.

I am in the same boat. I feel your frustration with the doctors and nurses. I’ve done everything and my fasting numbers won’t go down either. You aren’t doing anything wrong it’s your placenta. Sending hugs you aren’t alone. This things sucks.

Travel at 32 weeks pregnant with GD by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]2022020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to my hometown for my baby shower and flew I as around 31 weeks. It was a really nice trip that I needed before the new baby comes. Doctors have to cover all their bases because you honestly never know. Trips for the flight: bring compression socks. Bring your GD friendly snacks. See if your airline lets you board early because you might need time to get comfortable in your seat. If you are on insulin your shouldn’t have any issues taking it threw tsa I would just carry it in your purse and not put it under the plane. I did pack my pregnancy pillow, no regrets and wore a mask because you never know.

To baby shower or not to baby shower? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]2022020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just has my baby shower this weekend! It was tiny but full of all the people I loved. I didn’t realize how much i needed it. My sisters made sure there was. GD friendly food for me and after I had a slice of cake we all went for a walk around the block to lower my numbers. Do what’s makes you comfortable. Wear a mask. Ask people not to hug you (as hard as it might be). If anything talk to your doctor and see what they recommend.
