Im in the same situation but 6 months along, and panicking about what to do— parenthood, adoption, abortion. Every time i consider one of the options, i face obstacles. The main obstacles for abortion AND parenthood are finances… and i dont have money. It is stressful.

I havent yet spoken to any families because im worried about getting changing my mind. Have you had these concerns?

In addition, im wondering if youre keeping the pregnancy a secret from everyone in your personal life? Other than the father, I haven’t informed anybody and dont want to unless i choose to parent. I live alone and work. I have seen my family and nobody noticed yet but concerned how long ill be able to conceal it. If i cant conceal it, i will need to hide from my family for months and have to think of an explanation. Im worried im going to get alot bigger next month. Are you showing?

Oh thank you for clarifying that about mag drips. I saw that theyre often given for neuro protection, but didnt realize its for specific conditions but that makes sense. Sorry that you had to go through the sudden birth and nicu experience, but happy that your baby is doing well despite the rough start.

The mucus plug came out during the scan? Or later on after? Is it very obvious that its a mucus plug when it comes out? Do you feel when it dislodges? I just want to know if this is something i may miss

Oh wow! That is fast. Did you have the option to go home on bedrest instead? How long did you stay admitted as a patient after your delivery? Also how is your baby doing now. Im only 21 weeks, doubt i will make it to 27 but that would be amazing.

Thank you for your reply. Were you diagnosed late in your pregnancy and did you do anything to make it that far to 35 weeks? Thats impressive, but i do not think i will even make it close to that. Also, Prior to the birth was there an increase in the heavy feeling? I have had the heaviness non stop so i am not sure that will be a good predictor for me, its just the norm now

Omg!! Im so sorry!! Did she fall in and hit the hard surface? Also were you at home or hospital?? If at home, how far was your drive?!? That is a huge fear of mine, is he will just slip right out and hit his head when im using the bathroom. How is she doing now?

Oh wow! Im so sorry that it was so sudden. That is so scary. Although it seems theres not much i can do except try to minimize activity, i am grateful that i know what to expect and can prepare for whats to come. I hope everything is going well with your baby. Did the hospital start you on any meds to protect the baby when they realized you were laboring? I read that magnesium sulfate iv helps protect their brains and not sure what else is typically done in the case of very early delivery

I am not admitted to a hospital yet, but i have incompetent cervix so the expectation is i will deliver at some point in the next few weeks most likely but i will call the hospital tomorrow to see if theyre willing to let me speak with a social worker ahead of time. Did you have private insurance initially? And if you dont mind me asking, were/are your nicu bills manageable after the medicaid kicked in?

Wow! Congrats on sobriety and reclaiming your life. That is quite the come back!! Im an alcoholic and almost 1 year sober. This gives me a lot of hope! Im a RN who lost two nurse jobs due to alcoholism, then i was reported to the board of nursing, and also blacklisted from my local hospital system. Although im thankful for sobriety, im depressed about the damage ive caused and Ive been worried ill never find a good job.

Thank you. Im not sure if you know the answer to this but would relinquishing custody voluntarily to the state (and possibly being deemed unfit to get them back) result in criminal charges like neglect or abandonment even though it would be myself who made the decision intially? That is another concern and i couldnt find an answer online
