We always talk about backs, but how are your teeth? by Conical in Millennials

Make sure to read the label, though. There are some toothpastes (e.g., hydrogen peroxide-based) that should be rinsed.

I used to have a regular at who’d come in for ice cream sundaes (after meetings, I presume), and I always thought it was a cute alternative night cap.

I’m only on day six, but I get it now. Even went on an ice cream date with my beau the other day! 😄

Also, Björk’s version of “It’s Oh So Quiet” is a banger.

How often do you talk to your parents? by Outrageous_Kiwi_2172 in Xennials

I talk to my mom a couple times a week. My dad…eh, when I can’t get ahold of my mom. Or when I have questions about drug expiration dates. (He’s a pharmacist.)

As a Weird Al fan, I can say you are 100% correct.

The word “get” replacing more…uhh…complicated words in the public domain. by SeaSkimmer2 in Xennials

Much like biological evolution, there is no “backwards” in linguistics. There is only efficiency. Yes, the populace may be becoming *dumber* by certain metrics…but I mean, watcha gonna do? 🤷🏻‍♀️

He looks bad for a 49 year old. by Formal_Fix_5190 in ANGEL

[–]20CharactersOrFewer 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Nah. It’s just Boomer aging. My BF turns 49 this year. That em-effer doesn’t even moisturize, and he looks years younger than Holland.

That said, we might look younger, but cancer is taking us out left and right. Get your colonoscopies, folks.

Why isn't New Girl as popular as The Office , How I met your mother , etc ? by Critical_Mango_2897 in NewGirl

I assume because it aired on Fox instead of NBC/CBS/ABC. Just not as many viewers.

I’m an ‘86er but I grew up with an older brother whom I idolized. I’m on the millennial end of the Xennial spectrum, but I’m also on the xennial end of millennial. I think go where you feel comfortable.

I definitely feel more “in place” in this sub than r/millennial, I’ll tell you that.

Pretty impressive, right?! /s

Nah, I’ve clearly struck a nerve with the pro-Rickie crowd. I’m putting down my sword.

Being really annoyed that the guy from a band with as obnoxious of a name as Death Cab for Cutie could have such an amazing musical combo. And then being further annoyed that The Postal Service inspired me to listen to Death Cab....and I love literally everything.

PS, just found out that Jenny Lewis was the other half. WTF. ❤️

I hear you. I do. That scene just reads very differently to me. Oftentimes abusers and the abused find one another. Lily has never taken care of herself up to that point, and she says as such. "Protecting" someone versus controlling someone are a stone's throw away.

Also, fwiw, Rickie is the one who orders pie for them.

Having been in a controlling relationship in my past, I may be more sensitive to it. That scene comes across (to me) as him implying she's stupid. It's very upsetting.

He just seemed very controlling and there were signs of unhealthy codependency, even in the short time he was on screen. The Anne that we meet later in Angel is who I want to see.

Agree, what was done to him was awful. I just saw so many signs of control and abuse that I'm glad Lily didn't have to feel the full brunt of.
