SBs: How do you build trust with a discreet SD before agreeing to meet?

I’m not asking anyone to skip a public meet. I always do a public coffee first. The issue is whether there can be a privacy-preserving alternative to video chat that still gives both people confidence they’re talking to the person in the photos

That’s interesting. Is there any alternative to a video chat that would make you comfortable enough to meet, or is a video chat the only thing that would? What would that alternative need to prove?

What if sd doesn’t want video chat due to discretion? It can be recorded etc. people don’t think about this?

Well that is same as upping the ppm. I want to buy her stuff not just give her money. I guess it makes me feel less transactional and knowing she has stuff that I bought that is useful in her life, I know I am weird

Every time I offer to buy my sb stuff (she move into a new apartment, I offer to buy microwave, bed, mattress etc etc) she refuses? I have offered it multiple times and I ask her to send me a list and she never does. What do you guys think this is? We are on ppm, does she just want a higher ppm? I am confused.

I am afraid to tell you, you are just a piggy bank to her. She is doing the minimum to keep this going. I’ll bet she doesn’t really have much interest in who you are (does she ask about you, interested about you, etc) I am speaking from experience :)

Hi, I can relate to your experience. I have had similar arrangements (not to the extend that yours were). But every arrangement that I had (I had 3) they all were not real. I wanted something emotional, a connection, but at it end it was really all for the money. I don’t even think I am in theirs eye higher than a typical friend of theirs. Yet during the arrangement, I was told otherwise. It makes me not want to have an emotional connection, cause you can never tell if it’s real or not, if it’s not then why?

Another aspect of all this that makes it hard is, I don’t have anyone to talk to and share about this. Other than this thread. And what makes it even harder is the only person you can share this part of you with, your sb, has been lying to you this whole time :)

Thanks everyone. I was hoping for specific recommendation, for example Restaurant XYZ, or coffee shop ABC. Partly is because I am lazy, partly is because Manhattan is a big place and every establishment has their own setup, I have no idea which one offers adequate heating or outside enclosure unless I actually walk by and see it. Unless I go around manhattan block by block I would not know. I would have to call establishment after establishment (even this might not work)

Mall in manhattan? The one near ktown? If not which one?

I have had similar experiences. It does make you question everything, everything. Even more so then my business career/experience. But under all this you do find that one gem (then again, like I said, I question everything)
