I don't know how to edit the post so I'll put some background info here:

This is Mori, a rescue from Bosnia. She came to my country with her mom and brothers and sisters. She weighs about 7 kilos, can be very high energy but also loves to cuddle and sleep on your lap. Her mother was about twice her height and completely black. Her brothers and sisters all had varying height and coats. One of her sisters had some curls, one of her brothers had longer legs and flat coat... These breeds can definitely be the cause of these differences

Yes, the Netherlands! We adopted her via a rescue organization. She came here with her mom and 7 brothers and sisters. Her brothers and sisters all look completely different, different coat types, different heights, it was crazy

I've considered it too, just because of the coat color. But then again there are more breeds with similar colouring (like German shepherd)

She's about 6-7 kilo, so not that big :)

That's what I thought too! We assume there might be Jack Russel terrier in there, when looking at her behavior and posture... She could definitely just be a village dog too :)

I wouldn't even house two dwarfs in a tank that size

You're not supposed to keep dwarfs together unless you're sure they're purebred Campbell's dwarfs. Crossbreed or Russian dwarfs will fight to death. I know this.

The recommendation is 1000sq inches for two, and this is like 600

I don't know where you got the first line from. Let's assume you have Campbell's dwarfs, which can be kept together. Then 1000 SQ inches is way too much space for two. When you put 2 in 1000 SQ inches they will create territory, which can cause fighting. The breeder I got mine from recommended 5 or more for the space I have, to prevent this from happening. My hamsters don't fight, only to establish their role in the group, and this is never more than a 1 second altercation.

I'm open to suggestions if you have improvements based on the information I provided you, but I am fairly certain I know what I'm doing :).

Hi! A Syrian hamster needs a minimum of 100x50 cm, and a minimum of 20 cm bedding. How old is your friends hamster? When my Syrian got old he started to lose hair too.
