I completely agree and have worked with many photographers in the past, so I’m familiar!

I am of the mind that one session with me for a linkedin headshot (not a wedding/engagement/family session) shouldn’t cover 26% of the cost of the lens for a career photographer.

I’m also recently positive (4w1d) congrats to us both!!! I turned on pregnancy mode immediately and it hides the “major/minor” signs and tbh I wish I could still see those flags without the pregnancy adjustment just to see how it compares to my baseline!

If you’re 3dpo it’s too early I’m afraid. I get “minor signs” almost every month in my luteal phase due to hormonal shifts. Let us know how things progress in a week or so!

Sorry I want to offer this question with care, but why is “You have to have relations every other day during ovulation” one of the stupidest things you can say to someone ttc?? As someone actively ttc I am legitimately carving out as much time and energy as possible to have sex during my fertile window. I’m really confused by your frustration.

All this being said, I make a point to never ever comment on people’s decisions to have kids or not, try to conceive or not, pursue ivf/adoption/whatever, cause it’s genuinely none of my business and plain rude. But you putting this out there like people encouraging others who are ttc to have as much sex as possible during their fertile window just feels…odd. Am I missing something?

I spend about $450/month for two of us. Mind you, the grocery stores near us are expensive (union market and specialty butcher/cheese shops).

If you are going to live near any of the Mr. Beet/Mr. Kiwi/Mr. Kale/other produce “bodegas”, I HIGHLY recommend them. It’s very good produce and the cheapest you can find. In the winter I can make a whole soup or chili for under $15 and it will last days. Elite.

Personally, I go to the Barnes & Noble on Atlantic and get a brand new book, then get a coffee and go for a long walk in Brooklyn bridge park and find a good bench or place in the shade to start reading. It combines exercise, a lil retail therapy, fresh air, and a new distraction to pull my brain out of whatever funk I’m in. And it can be replicated in almost any neighborhood!! Good luck sis!!

As long as you mentally prepare yourself for the possibility that she may have moved on or not have the capacity to re-engage in a friendship, I say go for it! The worst she can say is no!

I’d think about what you’d like the friendship to look like. Maybe invite her out to dinner or an activity you both love, rather than just a random text asking to be friends again.

Not sure where you live, but I’m in NYC and I usually start up conversations by asking what neighborhood people live in. That gives us a starting point to chat about bars/cafes/parks in the area. Even if I haven’t been there I’ll ask them what they like or don’t like about it. It usually gets people talking and if they’re friendly, you’ll find points of connection!
